On Tuesday night, 15-year-old Victoria Blackstone, a sophomore at the St. Agnes School in St. Paul, led the crowd at the Xcel Energy Center in the Pledge of Allegiance. The audience heard her 434-word essay, “Pledging myself to the Flag of the United States of America,†an essay she’d entered in the “Wave the Stars & Stripes†essay contest and won. The RNC turned that essay into a three and a half minute video, a visually stirring montage rolling over Victoria’s words about sharing the Pledge with Americans who have stood at important moments in history.
There’s the Continental Congress…A real WWII vet…Photos of workers at Ground Zero. A close-up of a folded flag presented to a grieving widow at a military funeral… profiles of soldiers swelling with pride in slo-motion.
But CBS News found that the footage of the ‘funeral’ and soldiers is what is called ‘stock’ footage. The soldiers were actors and the funeral scene was from a one-day film shoot, produced in June. No real soldiers were used during production.
Well, whoop-dee-frickin'-doo! So the GOP decided to keep soldiers' funerals private, sacred and honored. AND THE LIBERALS COMPLAIN ABOUT IT! We're damned if we do and damned if we don't, kids.

Talk about a non-issue.

Hope he's being sodomized with broken beer bottles.

Can you imagine the furor if they had used real soldiers, because tha would be a violation of UCMJ.
Soldiers aren't allowed to wear uniforms to political events.

That's probably why they're so upset, Sir. The GOP didn't give them (another) knife to stick in our backs. Forcing them to invent issues to be mad at us about makes them mad.
:blowkiss: Oh well.

Didn't stop the DNC from using them. And it's not the UCMJ, but the Regs of the various services.

Ahh, all of you beat me to it - I was under the impression that there is strict guidance as to what/where/how/why uniformed Soldiers may be used, and that using stock actors was probably the safest, most legal way to go.

And the most fair, respectful and honorable. While I'm sure there are some families that would've jumped at the chance to be featured in that video to show their support for the troops and the GOP, others consider military funerals to be sacred and private.

That's the best you've got, CBS/DNC? Srsly? If I didn't loathe you and long for your painful demise, I'd pity you.

You know he has an uncanny resemblance to the Che in your tag line. Well, except Che really DID horrific war crimes. Still, Che looks like he could be an uncle or something.

MSB, I DID see a few folks in uniform at the RNC whne it was televised last night. I don't know if they were part of a color guard or what. They appeared to be Senior NCOs. I made the same comment to my significant other.

Why bother. The MSM would just as soon crucify you and the rest of us on false charges for ratinges then save you from them
