Title: First they came for the women . . . .

First they came for the women . . . .

The nation is all a-twitter about the Supreme Court's decision to destroy the right of women to manage their own bodies.  Comments on the overturning of Roe are now worried about the likelihood of the Court overturning other rights:  the right to use contraception (Griswold v. Connecticut); same-gender marriage (Obergefell v. Hodges); the right to marry a person of another race (Loving v. Virginia); and every other right not in the Constitution as it was originally approved in 1788.

This move by the Court to destroy Roe -- buttressed by three "justices" who lied in their confirmation hearings -- makes it clear that many of the rights we take for granted are in danger.

I'm reminded of the words of Reverend Martin Niemöller.

Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Lutheran pastor in Germany. He emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps. He is perhaps best remembered for his postwar words,

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Suppose Roe v. Wade Was Overturned and Nobody Cared?

Is it just me, or are you sensing a surprising lack of public outrage over the news Roe v. Wade is likely to be overturned?

For the 40 years I’ve been watching politics, I’ve been repeatedly and incessantly warned by America’s so-called experts that America’s next civil war would be over the issue of abortion, most especially if the Supreme Court overturned Roe.

Well, here we are, about five days after someone leaked a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe, a leak almost certainly designed to create an explosion of fury and, well, where is this explosion of fury?

Where’s Civil War: Part Deux?

This is one of those rare moments where I find myself in agreement with that little cupcake from Who’s the Boss? On Thursday, Alyssa Milano had her own Jeb(!) please clap moment. Using her first wife voice, Milano scolded her fellow celebs over their lack of outrage and activism… “I see all of you celebrities and influencers who are too scared to use you voice on behalf of reproductive Justice,” she screeched. “I see you talking about diets and make up and your new movies as our right to bodily autonomy is being stripped away from us,” she again screeched… Then she begged, “We need you. Get engaged.”

She’s right. No one’s clapping.

More proof of public indifference can be found in the post-leak cable news ratings, which haven’t budged… Based on what we’ve been told for the last 50 years, you’d think these numbers would skyrocket, but CNNLOL is still averaging under 700,000 total primetime viewers.

FB may be bot-filtering what I see, but I've seen zero Roe-outrage posts from my Lib/Prog FB Friends, and only a few celebratory posts from FB Friends I know to be Pro-Life.

Allow me to repeat what I said a few days ago:

Democrats have already shown that they are coming for people like me, or will be in the near future. Thus, any pleas of "first they came for..." coming from the democrats are going to ring hollow.

Yep me too, hell all of us. I'm left thinking of this and this won't happen to me and mine:

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

First they NEVER came for the antifa, despite the arson, looting and assaults on cops and civilians.
Then they NEVER came for the Democrat elitist leadership, despite a stolen election and the utter breakdown of the rule of law.
Then they NEVER came for the illegal immigrants, in spite of terrorists within, rape, and organized crime.
Then they NEVER came for me—on twitter where I was making death threats and censoring conservatives...Oh Crap! Elon Musk!
