So, I've been exposed to someone who's been exposed...
to someone who's been exposed to someone who tested positive.
The person I was exposed to is my 90 year-old dad.
He went to visit his brother yesterday, who was exposed to COVID by his son (so it's my cousin who has tested positive).
CDC says test won't be accurate for 5 days.
Well, at least my family is really good about relaying all this information to each other.
Dad is vaxxed and boosted. Was going to get second booster tomorrow.
Since he's 90, we're still worried (of course). The good news is that his regular physical was just a couple of weeks ago and the doctor says people half his age would be lucky to be as healthy as he is.

The Dad probably assumes greater risk of death when he gets out of bed in the morning.
Who are the sillier panic-mongers? The anti-Covid-vaxxers claiming The Vaccine is deadly or the Covid-Panic-Mongers who talk as if nearly half of people who get Covid are hospitalized and a large percentage of those die? Hospitals, morgues, and funeral homes are not overflowing, whether from "Vax Injury" or people with Covid.
Back to the DU OP, will MissMillie update DUers every time 90YO Dad has a BM? :rotf: :mental:

I've been following Covid news for over 2 years, been tested (other than when I was hospitalized) twice, and don't know what the :spork: that is supposed to mean. Rapid antigen tests yield results in 10-20 minutes. They are a bit less accurate than PCR tests, but their accuracy does not vary with time. Similarly, PCR tests are not utterly perfect, but again, their accuracy does not vary with time.
The only guess I can come up with is that MissMillie got one of LIEden's "free" Covid tests some time ago, mailed her sample to ??, and the CDC says that ?? will communicate the results within 5 days. Of course, if MissMillie received one of LIEden's "free" Covid tests by mail, she'd better hope the USPS never allowed the test to get below the test's minimum temperature while it was in transit, and that the test didn't sit in MissMillie's mailbox at too low a temperature for very long.
