More background on the social problems of the home-town of Sarah Palin:
In 2003, authorities uncovered nine meth labs in the area. Last year, the number increased to 42, said Kyle Young, an investigator with the troopers who works with the Mat-Su narcotics team.
Officials with the Office of Children's Services in Wasilla said the problem affects children. The office receives about 40 calls a month from people reporting abuse or neglect involving some aspect of the highly addictive drug...
When authorities surrounded a converted bus housing a meth operation in Big Lake in January, a 13-year-old boy who answered the door bragged that his mom cooked the best meth in the valley, according to the troopers.
During a 2003 bust at a house outside Wasilla, officers discovered five children living inside, all younger than 8 years old.
The calls about meth to children's services in Wasilla accounts for as many as 40 percent of the agency's total monthly child protection calls.

2. A New Whisper Campaign
The other day I got a call from a friend who isn't very political, but the Palin baby story sure got his attention.
He's convinced little Trig is Bristol's. I mentioned that these type of children tend to be born by older, high risk mothers, and he then chuckled and said, they also are symptoms of young mothers with a problem...either alcohol or meth. This isn't making light of this sad situation, but it makes you think...especially in light of how Meth has become a major problem with teens in rural and ex-urb areas.
I can't decide who is more stupid, the friend for writing or KT for posting it.

3. Your friend is wrong
It is a genetic condition that is not influence by pre-natal environmental factors.

5. I Found His Response Worth Sharing...
I want to give this lady the benefit of the doubt...and I feel terrible about putting this child in the national fishbow. That's my biggest issue, but others seem not to be sold on the story and one that could nag (thus the word "whisper"). The meth epedemic is a big issue that is rarely covered and I would really hope this isn't a problem with Bristol...that poor child has enough troubles.
Cheers...

I thought P. Diddy said there weren't any crackheads in Alaska?!?

I would say after the spanking the MSM got from Palin last night they will not be so eager and quick to run with the poo that the nutroots flings.
I wonder how many meth labs there are in the community that B. Hussein Obama organized?

Area Peppered With Meth Labs, Recovering Addict Says
Labs like one recently uncovered in suburban Hanover Park are nothing new to the Chicago area.
In Lakeview, an apartment raid uncovers a meth operation and in suburban Burr Ridge, a mother is sentenced to five years in prison for making meth.
<snip>
"We'll be driving down the road and I'll smell it," she said. "My addict mind is just like, 'Man, I'm gonna go find that. Then, I start thinking about it and I'm like, it's right in that house."

An interesting point that Glenn Beck brought up this morning: If you watch where Gov. Palin's eyes were during most of her speech last night, her "default position" was straight into the center of the media pit.
The speech may have been red meat for us conservative types, but the non-verbal language was ALL ABOUT throwing down the gauntlet for the media.

Since DUmmies hate corporations more than anything, including meth, what about the fact that Joe Biden is a senator from Delaware, where scores of corporations have their charters?
I mean, what's Joe Biden doing about all of those evil corporations that are setting up shop in his own backyard?
DU?

There are a ton of drug labs in the rural part of Delaware, too. That's a main corridor for the drug pipeline.

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996, then won two terms as mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002
Wow, Sarah must have kept the druggies in check. All of the meth labs happened after she left office.

If I were the good people of Wasilla, I would try to keep quiet about the meth labs. Whenever stories spread about an area having easy availability of illegal drugs, democrats swarm in from all over.
Remember, before all the stories about psychedelic drugs in the late 60's/early 70's, San Francisco was a gloriously beautiful, most admirable city. The drug stories attracted hundreds of thousands of democrats, aspiring to addiction. Now, a generation removed, San Francisco is world-renowned as a cesspool of AIDS, democrats, drug addiction, sodomy, and publicly sanctioned perversion. Its only saving grace is its location on a major fault line, which will eventually relocate the whole mess to the bottom of the sea.
Wasilla will likely avoid the fate of San Francisco. Democrats don't tend to proliferate in areas where the climate doesn't lend itself to sleeping in public parks. But if I were a Wasillan, I would not want to take that chance.
