So we can't prosecute Trump.
That's what I hear a lot. No way we can get 12 jurors to convict Trump, there will always be a Magat to gum up the trial.
So much for that theory. A Magat who invaded the Capitol was just convicted on all 6 counts, one count's maximum sentence is 20 years. Why is this significant regarding Trump? His lawyer used the argument that his client was duped by Trump, was urged by Trump to invade the Capitol. The lawyer even tried to subpoena Trump to testify. The jury only deliberated for 3 hours.
A jury can and will convict Trump, when and if DOJ indicts.

2. "when and if DOJ indicts"
And that seems to be the problem.

3. I'm not saying Trump can't be convicted, but...
...since this guy's defense was to blame Trump, and to claim he was ashamed of what he did for Trump, a Trump supporting juror might decide the guy wasn't helping out.

6. The MAGAt blamed Trump but the jury found him guilty anyway. I don't see how that
proves a jury would convict Trump. The jury put the blame on the MAGAt rather than blaming Trump.
Couldn't that mean the jury believes Trump had nothing to with Jan 6th?

7. I won't say
I won't say I don't care if he gets convicted or not, but at least charge him and do the trial. If some Magat wants to let him walk then there is not lot we can do,but at the very least carry out the rule of law that is supposedly the base of our country. If not then why do we have any of them.

Of course the jury convicted after 3 hours. This is DC. No Trump supporter could ever hope to have a conscientious jury there.
