Nearing the end of their investigation, the J6 Committee has some tough decisions to make.
Should they subpoena Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Don Jr to come before their Committee?
Should they subpoena Gosar, Biggs, and Brooks to answer questions, since they were so involved in the "Stop the Steal" movement?
Since Trump and Pence were part of the Executive Branch and no longer in office, there is no reason they should not be subpoenaed, in my opinion. Gosar, Biggs, and Brooks present a different problem, since they are part of the same Legislative Branch as the members on the Committee and they are still serving as Congressmen.
As for Don Jr, there is no reason he should not be subpoenaed, since the latest bombshell of his texts were made public. The texts show him to be conspiring to overthrow the election before the election was even called. His attorney said that he likely got the texts from someone else before he sent them? If so, how long before? Was it before Election Day? How long had it been planned? That "alibi" doesn't help Don Jr in the least.
There is no legal reason not to subpoena Trump and Pence. It would give the Congress a reason to reclaim their legitimacy from the Executive Branch. After all, they are the Representatives of the People.
The Committee could kill two birds with one stone, if they were to subpoena Trump and Pence. What right are they claiming, to prevent them from answering questions about January 6th and other questionable activities, involving the election of 2020?
If they refused the subpoenas, the Committee could then make a criminal referral to the DOJ for contempt of Congress, and it would not interfere with any investigations that the DOJ might have ongoing, which reportedly has been a concern of theirs. They would be treated no differently from Bannon, Scavino, Eastman, or others that might be subpoenaed in the next few weeks. They would have no legal excuse. They are only using "politics" and the possibility of running for President in 2024 as an excuse not to testify before the Committee. They should not be allowed to get away with it.
The subpoenas for Trump and Pence and the likelihood that both would ignore it, would give credence to contempt of Congress charges against both.
be very careful, Dems... issuing subpoenas... you never know who might be sent one after Nov 8th...

1. The J6 Committee should go for it all. All or Nothing.
No one is above the law. Not even a former POTUS.
Oh, yes... impeach Trump again!

2. They need to wrap it up quickly, especially if it's true they think they have the evidence.
Refer trump to DOJ and issue a report. This week is fine with me.

3. Who said they were near the end?
They haven't had public hearings yet, which are slated for May and June, and they are expected to release their report in September.
They are nowhere near the end. In fact, it looks like they have a long way to go. Let's let them do their job and see what else they uncover, because I'll bet there's a mountain of shit still there.
The report will be late, just before the end of October, and just before the elections.

The better to minimize the impact of that gi-normous nothingburger as it lands atop the steaming pile of excrement set to bury these imbeciles in November.
Assuming of course that the Benevolent Dominion Vote Tabulators of Plenty aren't being warmed up as we speak to pull the leftist scum's fat out of the fire...

And DU-folk will think it's a TRUMP-shattering KABOOM! :rotf:

Ya know DUmmies have no clue. IF they manage to prevent a Trump election in 2024...DeSantis will move in and he is just as bad if not worse than Trump.
No matter what they do they are screwed.

there is no reason they should not be subpoenaed
there is no reason he should not be subpoenaed
Most people would think in terms of why a citizen should be subjected to a subpoena
Government power is always the default with DU shitstains, not individual rights.

I guess President Trump should be unimpeached then..
Because this changes the narrative from Trump spontaneously incited J6th activities, to it was a planned conspiracy.
You cant have it both ways, DUmmies.

They're DUmmies. They can have it 5 different ways if they want to.

:hi5: ! Conservative have for over a year pointing out that evidence that planning had begun in December or late November 2020 PROVED Trump's 1/6 speech could not have inspired the "riot" at the Capitol. Because anachronism.
"Unfortunately" for the more recent conspiracy narrative, the FBI stated, also about a year ago that beyond isolated small groups, there was zero evidence of an over-arching high level conspiracy.
In the real world, the "1/6 Committee" is little more than political theater. That means that the substance of any actions will be smoke-and-mirrors fiction, and the timing determined by political expediency. The political expediency is the November 2022 midterm election, so the "1/6 Committee"'s smoke and mirrors fiction will be deployed some time between late September through late October 2022. The exact timing will be a compromise between early enough to become widely known but late enough that contradictory facts can't become widely known, seasoned with leaks, impatient Dem operatives, and, possibly, R preemptive counterattacks.

That is the advantage to being completely disconnected from reality. You get to firmly believe whatever happens to be useful to your agenda at a particular moment, and can shift whenever needed, even mid-sentence.

Will DU-folk give us 24 Business Hours' notice of Tump being frog-marched in cuffs out of Trump Tower? :rotf:
