I guess I'm naive, but what about the first amendment. Does DeSantis simply overrule that????

How can he ban the word gay/discussions in k-3rd grade.

This entire thing is insane, that we now ban words too along with books. Yet another total WTF. Please, someone tell me how he simply overrules the first amendment, plus promotes lawsuits against free speech. Does a governor just overrule the first amendment? ... does it only apply to congress? Can you imagine what this guy would do as president "if" he were to win in 2024. He's an extremely dangerous character. Trump on steroids, but a GOP darling. He's dangerous to anyone in a democracy IMO.

Of course, it does no such thing.

1. He can't.

He just makes noise, and people listen/hear/accept/believe.

Nothing like education, eh

4. It won't stand up to a court challenge

Blocking free speech. Of course SCOTUS is stacked with Fascist pricks, so there's that...

10. Flip it around: do you want public school teachers preaching to students?

The school administration and State Government have the right (for better or worse) to decide what constitutes curriculum. The teacher can speak freely outside the classroom.

12. The problem is not that they are preaching. The problem is that they teach things...

that offend fn bigots and kids might think for themselves.

15. Yeah, that's pretty much the bottom line, and if challenged/overruled then he'll just say, well,

the libs did it, that's why you need me to fight them. Most of them will just remember the initial statement/action ... short memory types. Idiots!!!

18. The man is running for President, he is trying to impress all of the Trump voters, so expect

to continue seeing all kinds of crazy shit from him. I just wish we could bounce him from office when reelection times roll around, that would take the winds out of his Presidential race. I really don't see it though; the Florida voters lost their minds long ago.

The bill is to stop grooming our kids at age 6 to become pillow biters. That's all

Irony, thou name art the DUmp.  You are believing what you want about a bill you haven't (and most lack the vocabulary to) read, and instead are simply regurgitating what you are told to think about the bill.

Public school teachers, while on the clock, are agents of the state.

As such, they have no business teaching any ideology, since tax payers come in all stripes.

They can 'first amendment' on their private time, or join a private school.
