If you have thought of selling things you've acquired or inherited...listen up
IRS has a new rule. If you sell more than $600 worth of stuff, it will be considered taxable income. If you sell on a site like eBay or use PayPal or another method for payment, you'll be getting a 1099 to submit with your taxes.
No getting around it. This is going to hit a huge amount of people.
So much for the idea that anyone who makes less than $400,000 will not see an increase in tax liability.

Funny how they act/react when they know something is going to come out of their pocket and not their neighbors pocket. I see them type paying taxes is patriotic, then they get pissed when they have to pay taxes.

She's not just upset that she may have a harder time defrauding the IRS, she also is upset that other people may be prevented from artificially inflating their business expenses to defraud the IRS. Apparently, she's spent a lot of time figuring out how to steal from the government. Of course, she's just one of many over there that are trying their best to suck up as much money as they can from the government, legally or illegally.

And if someone should happen to send you any money on PP -- a friend or family member or whatever -- if they happen to check a particular box, you'll be getting a 1099 for that, too.
Example: A friend sends you $400 on PayPal to pay his/her share in a vacation expense or as a gift, whatever. If he checks the wrong little box as he sends it.... maybe he wants to declare it as a business expense, so he checks the box "goods and services" instead of "friends and family"
Bingo. You'll be getting a 1099 for it. It happened to me. It doesn't have to be $600 for PP to tee it up.

Bingo. You'll be getting a 1099 for it. It happened to me. It doesn't have to be $600 for PP to tee it up.
Just think of it as you paying someone else's tuition. There that feels better now right?
