We've been hit with two plagues at one time -- Covid and MAGAts
Almost a million Americans have died from Covid since it hit us two years ago. Sane people have done everything in their power to fight it, avoid it, and stay alive. And it's only because the majority has done what needed to be done, at no small cost, that many more haven't died, or succumbed to long term ill effects from this horrible virus.
And speaking of horrible viruses, let's not forget the MAGAts that Donald Trump unleashed upon us. It's impossible to say how many of those Covid deaths Trump is responsible for, but virtually all of America's current political sickness can be laid at his feet.
The virus will eventually pass and we may require annual Covid shots just like we need annual flu shots.
But Trumpism will be with us for the foreseeable future. The Republican Party spent decades setting the table for a madman, and one finally came along. (Yes, if you don't yet know, Trump is insane.) The fact that he's still a threat for 2024 speaks volumes about the damage he's done and that which he's still capable of.
The Republican Party is carrying on the incredibly crazed legacy of Covid denial and Trump worship. And it's very possible that they'll own the congress of the United States after this years election.
So here we are, fighting two plagues at once. We're well down the path of winning the fight against Covid. I wish I could say the same about what should be an all out fight against American political madness. It's a fight we could well lose, for the simple reason that our leaders aren't "all in." When will they realize we are up against relentless, dangerous, domestic enemies and act accordingly? When wil they fight as though our democracy was at stake? Because it is.

Trump didn't unleash anything; voters unleashed Trump.

Quite right.
And, now that we've had a taste of what controlled immigrationn and a good economy look like we wont soon forget it.
Nor will we be forgetting high energy prices under two dem administrations, and the low energy prices under the Republican administration between them

For once, DUmmy, you're right; See, the American public have quickly grown tired of insanely corrupt and incompetent Dems in office who care more about baselessly accusing everyone in sight of racism/sexism/lgbtqwhateverphobia than they do about lowering gas and food prices and ensuring that the American people can continue to feed their families and live safely.

DUmmieworld alternate reality. Trump pushed the vaccines - with Operation Warp Speed, got vac'd himself and has recommended that people get vac'd. Any good "MAGAT" should have been vac'd a long time ago.
