I Am So Tired of the Petty Partisan Posturing by Republican Senators
in their interrogation of a nominee for the SCOTUS. Since it is a public forum, all of the Republicans are using it to pander to their constituencies, pretending to examine the nominee's qualifications for that lofty position in our judicial system.
They are giving carefully targeted campaign speeches. Nothing more. They already know how they will vote in the confirmation voting. We all know how they will vote.
The nominee will be confirmed, and a couple of Republicans will probably vote for confirmation.
This is a media show. This is a rare opportunity for those Republicans to speak on national television without interruption.
I have come to believe that such hearings should not be televised, simply because it gives a platform for pontification to puerile politicians.
I am sickened by their attacks on a superbly qualified jurist.

I hate to repeat myself, but the nerve that DU has to accuse republicans of petty politics. Democrats have shown that nothing is beneath them in the pursuit of political advantage.

Yeah, because we'd be so much better if we took the word of the NY times on such things. :thatsright:
Sounds like a DUmmys ass is still chapped at how bad ballsy-ford looked, and now is becoming even more irritated at the truth of just how horrible a candidate the current nominee is.
"Superbly qualified" on paper maybe, in reality, that jurist is perhaps the worst possible choice - a dishonest activist jurist.
And she is likely a monster on top of it, given her preferential treatment of monsters.
Own it, DUmmies.

How wonder if he said the same thing during the previous three confirmation hearings?

They also appear to have very short memories...
I guess they forgot Gorsich, Kavanaugh and Comey-Barret Hearings... with all the pandering the dems did during those Hearings

Having watched some of the Coney Barrett hearings, that was precisely my first thought.

Quite the different tune you DUmmies were singing 3 1/2 years ago:

Merrick Garland!!!!! Over and over again.
Every single time the GOP tries to pull this "it's all political" crap, we need to scream "Merrick Garland!"
I heard Press Secretary Sanders say that the Democrats are trying to thwart the will of the people when it comes to a president's job of picking a Supreme Court Justice.
"Merrick Garland!"
Scalia died on Obama's watch. Obama made an appointment. The Senate GOP played politics.
Even when Kavanaugh was appointed, the White House withheld documents... politics.

Kavanaugh is a raging alcoholic who is still in total denial about his drinking.
This alone should disqualify him from being a judge.

Deep down Kav's wife knows Ford was telling the truth
I was just thinking about that. Her face yesterday looked pretty hopeless, as if she knew. If she really thought her husband was innocent, I don't think she'd be that sad.
Whether he's confirmed or not, I wonder what the consequences of this will be on his personal life? At this point he has no choice but to push on. Not doing so would probably start a domino effect on his career. But pushing on and getting the Supreme Court? I wonder if he could go back, would he think it was worth it to accept the nomination in the first place?

Shall I provide more examples? There are dozens if not hundreds more.
