Title: DUmmy questions SCOTUS nominee Congressional approval process
Post by: BamaMoose on March 23, 2022, 01:19:44 AM
So, a DUmmy asks a relatively simple question:

So what's the strategy behind grilling a SCOTUS candidate for 12 hours?

The DUmmy is concerned that working for 12 hours in a single day is excessive.  They probably never worked even an 8 hour day, so more than that is apparently unfathomable.  But the responses show off the Dummies' hypocrisy with amazing clarity.

5. Like Hillary's Benghazi investigation, it's not about finding the truth.

It's about kneecapping the opposition/ Shooting nothing but blanks.

A Party looking for a reason to demonize those that they disagree with on law, policy, and social norms. And they look more and more like the extremists that align with them.

8. Get on TV saying sound bites your base likes to hear.

That's the whole point of these televised hearings. They stopped being substantive long ago.

12. They get their message out to the base.

16. Kind of silly...

Mostly only people interested in party politics are watching anyway, and they have already chosen their team.

21. Easy answer

None. Pure theater

The DUmmies have perfectly defined the Kavanaugh hearings.  Pure, unadulterated theater trying to smear a nominee with nothing more than unsubstantiated claims that didn't even sound remotely plausible.  All to try to play to their base and attempt to discredit Kavanaugh, and by default Trump.  And, after every claim was disproved, they still repeat the same rumors and innuendo as facts.  So, maybe before they criticize the process and attack the Republican Senators, maybe, just maybe, they will examine their own behavior over the past few years.  I won't be holding my breath.

Ketanji is being treated with kid gloves.  She will not be vetted/questioned like the other nominees have been.

Literally everything asked is called racist, and that is sad.  It's why I don't care if someone calls me a racist.  It has no meaning other than the person screaming it at you disagrees with you and has no other argument to put forth.

More projection.

'Accuse the opposition of what you do'.

Effing commies.

So what's the strategy behind grilling a SCOTUS candidate for 12 hours?

The schedule was set by committee chair Dick Durbin, a Democrat. Why not ask him?

Sometimes it galls me that the Rs are too honest/nice/(don't laugh) to give Dem judicial nominees treatment proportional to Borking for being too qualified and the scorched-earth false accusations of Clarence-Thomasing and Kavanaughing.

I wonder if any of the senators has the balls to ask Ketanji what her opinion of affirmative action is …

Oh wow, grilling for only 12 hours? Did the Republicans accuse her of being a drunk? A gang rapist? Bitch, please.

Maybe some Handmaid's Tale robed figures walking through the hearing room would help remind the nominee what a woman is....

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?
