Any more news on why the new Manhattan DA...
scuttled the trump case when the two lead prosecutors favored moving forward to indictment?
Something doesn't seem right about that.

3. I haven't checked with any news sources, but I have been skimming DU about it..crickets
Figured we'd hear from DU's Legal Eagles.. Certainly it warrants a reasonable explanation.
Other than: "There wasn't enough evidence"...
No something doesn't seem right. Of course it doesn't. And didn't we see it coming when word got out a few months before the fact, that Cy Vance was retiring by the end of the year, yet this case was still "being investigated?
But some months before then, didn't we read that he brought on a very "tough and smart" Prosecutor to assist or take over?
His name escapes me at the moment, but he was touted as being the best in the region, extremely successful and smart. But that name wasn't mentioned or associated with the news of the case being essentially closed. I'm speculating he along with Vance, decided to shut it down but he didn't want his name associated with that decision. So they made sure the credit would go to a prosecutor we hadn't even heard of before.
Some folks rejoiced when that well known and extraordinarily talented attorney was brought on the team, other folks weren't so optimistic, the dude seemed to have had a mixed reputation. I didn't have any knowledge about him but some of those reports gave me a sinking feeling this case would be shut down.
So what news is there to report? The headline probably reads The Manhattan Investigation has no evidence to proceed with charges against DJT and he is no longer under investigation for criminal fraud etc etc etc. But there can't be a headline if it isn't made official.
Correct? So let it die under the radar...
We have other things to concern ourselves with.. Chalk it off to the wonderful world of Crony Capitalism when you have the justice system in your pocket.

Why do you hate Rachel Maddow so much? Spare her the embarrassment. She has about a carton's worth of egg on her face already.

The DA looked at the "evidence" and told his ASSistants they didn't have a case.
They wanted to prosecute Trump even though they had no evidence by which to win the case.
Their shamvestigation was lawfare against the hated Trump, from its inception, never an investigation of any crime.
Knowing the DA would not let them go to court with a sure-losing non-case - an ultra-high-profile loss might not fly with voters in the next election - the ASSistants threw a tantrum and resigned.
Welcome to reality-in-five-single-sentence-paragraphs, DUmmies! :rotf:
