Russia and China Aren't the Natural Allies Many Assume Them to Be

In the wake of mounting tensions between the US and Russia over Ukraine, one now finds countless media stories on the "China-Russia axis" and the "bond between Russia and China." The ideological benefit of connecting Russia to China is undoubtedly clear to anti-Russia hawks. Russia is a relatively weak state with a small economy. China, on the other hand, tends to look more formidable. By connecting Russia to China in a new version of George W. Bush's "axis of evil," it becomes easier to downplay calmer voices noting the many limitations Russia faces in terms of its geopolitical ambitions.
But just how secure is this supposed Sino-Russian friendship? While the two states may broadly agree on the need to limit US hegemonic power, the two are likely to also find many reasons to view each other as more immediate sources of conflict.
Russia and China seem to be allies or are they?

Both countries are opportunists that seek to fulfill their own wants and needs first. There would be only an "alliance" between them if that alliance was of mutual benefit, which isn't likely. China isn't really satisfied playing patty-cake with Russia because it wants, and has stated publicly, that they want to supplant the US as the premier power in the world. The ChiComs wouldn't want a hanger-on like Putin necessarily.
But I can see where China would want to sucker Putin in to some sort of "relationship" without really giving in to what Putin wants, which is to reestablish the Soviet Union.
In reading Schweizer's book, Red-Handed, it's becoming clear to me that China has infiltrated many of the so-called "secure" systems that accompany US technology, including military applications. Many US politicians, including #SharterJoe, Dianne Feinstein, and even GWB's brother Neil have been and are in bed with the ChiComs.
Let's not forget Swalwell, who STILL sits on the House Intelligence committee.
Lots more name-dropping in the book, and I'm just finishing up Chapter 2, which is entitled "The Bidens."
According to Schweizer, the ChiComs have paid Hunter Biden (and his associate "The Big Guy") more than $31 million while #SharterJoe was Veep. Another interesting tidbit about Joe and his habit of scheduling "off the books" meetings at the WH, not to mention Hunter Biden's declining Secret Service protection on his many, many trips to China. He didn't decline that protection when he went to Europe - only China. What's that telling us?
The elite class are being paid handsomely by the ChiComs for intelligence, information, and access to those at or near the top. They are well on their way to being the world's biggest superpower, largely because of the greed of the political and big tech elite class.

I read somewhere back in the eights that most of China's nuclear arsenal was pointed at Russia. The thinking was if any attack was coming it was more than likely coming from Russia.

So many ancient black-market networks between the two countries... That would be where the friction would eventually come from.
A couple years ago they 'clashed' over who could corrupt more Mongolian military-officials to help seize control of the stolen-phone racket with North Korea.
