Who is/are the Democratic outsider/s to run for president?
I don't see a clear frontrunner should Biden not run. And seeing how politicians and lawyers are viewed poorly, is there a great candidate we aren't thinking about?
Mainly, who comprise the future leaders of our party and the country? We're more than a social movement and civil rights defenders, which is how we are portrayed on the right. We govern so far superiorly than the right who seem today to only want constraints removed from white collar criminals. That and wanting everyone armed to the teeth.
I know there have to be many who would be great. Somebody not Michael Bloomberg or Mario Cuomo - the real outsider. Al Franken? Nah...

11. What are her latest poll numbers ?
I think she would have a lot of opponents in a Democratic primary.
How did she do in the 2020 Democratic primaries?

55. Anyone running against Harris in the primary would NEVER EVER get past SC, come on people those amount of black women ***ALONE*** would disqualify whomever runs against her.

58. Whomever doesn't get out of SC with black women doesn't get the national black vote ...
... for the last 20 years including Obama in 08.
That isn't going to change any time soon
Clyburn knew he had power at that time because of history and the demographics of the democratic party in SC.
Bypassing Harris is needlessly tearing the party apart because of some people feel privileged

61. "whatever" isn't a factual argument, people want to support this misogynist racist shit overlooking
... Harris like she's not there but I'm calling out and if they don't like it; whatever

15. I ask that every time and there's always
an excuse.
Then, a white man that they'd prefer.
So, I guess she's at the intersection of Black and Female and they don't like either.
You know: "I'd be open to a woman, but not THAT women!"
I don't believe we'll ever have a woman as president. Too much misogyny.

46. So people needed an excuse to not vote for Harris in the 2020 Primary?

I voted for another candidate because her campaign was uninspiring.

28. She was my first choice during 2020
I still consider her my first choice for the presidency.
I was never the biggest fan of Biden, but I’ve been very impressed with him thus far. He has put together an excellent team and done better as president than I expected. His decades of political experience certainly have served our nation well.
After Harris, I don’t know who I’d consider.

I think your misogyny is showing.

22. I think that is not an issue right now at all.
We have other stuff to deal with, it seems to me. Maybe we can focus on 2022 right now, eh?

23. Biden will run...you get a incumbent advantage. It would be madness to do anything else.
And frankly, given our situation, I see no one capable of winning the rust belt which is must-win. Please stop with these posts. Let's get through the midterms. I repeat I believe Biden will run and at that point, NO ONE else who values their future in politics should run.

35. Your OP seems to be trashing/ignoring VP Harris. One wonders why that is.

40. My query is about outsiders who are Democrats
I understand the sensitivity to the idea of not running Harris, but sadly she has yet to grow her support. She may ye, si xinsider this a think tanks question.
Should Biden not run again for a number of reasons, we have various wannabes already in mainstream politics. I think the country has changed so much since 9/11 and the bifurcation of news sources. Thinking outside the box couldn't hurt in a forum like this.
Why can't we have someone like Tom Hanks? Or maybe Chris Evans? If Reagan can get elected, why not people who realize how much trickle down economics has hurt the middle class.

50. My misogyny?
I'm no misogynistic Democrat. I voted for Elizabeth Warren in the CA primary. But it takes more than ideas. In a way Warren was an outsider, having entered politics so late in her career.
Bernie Sanders 2,080,846 35.97 225
Joe Biden 1,613,854 27.90 172
Elizabeth Warren 762,555 13.18 11
I'm looking at the results of that primary and am stunned.
Harris is hopefully building a platform of her own for the future. Maybe 2024 or 2028.

52. Again, the fact that your OP completely ignored VP Harris. And you only
mentioned males.

70. Why do you think "outsiders" need to be Democratic leaders?
Why are leaders so important? Democrats aren't authoritarians. Democrats know what they stand for and want. They don't have to be told. They aren't populists.

69. A great candidate we (who's "we?") aren't thinking about is exactly who I would pick
I fully expect Joe Biden to run again, but if we have to go through this hypothetical exercise, I would pick someone we absolutely are NOT thinking about, so that the Republican media juggernaut can't start preparing their negative campaign against them already.

Posts this accurate should garner at least a few Alerts, :rotf: . Dem "leaders" are senescent, like LIEden, Chuckles, and Pelosiroo, or loony-toons, like Schifftyroo, Lieuroo, and Swillwell. :rotf:

2. What's wrong with Kamala Harris?
Was this a serious post? Pollsters would have to dig a new sub-basement to accommodate her poll numbers. Fish will be doing Peloton rides before Kammie gets elected POTUS.
Race-baiting insults followed, unsurprisingly. Then the "adult in the room" tried to tamp it down:

46. So people needed an excuse to not vote for Harris in the 2020 Primary?
He called her "uninspiring". I would vote against her in an election for Deputy Assistant Dogcatcher, because she's stupid and arrogant ... and stupid.

2. What's wrong with Kamala Harris?
DUmbass....to answer that question would take much too long to answer. The easier question would be what's right about Kamala Harris. The answer to that question is simple and consists of just one word.....everything.

Why wouldn't brandon run for a 2nd term? In 2020 he was the perfect candidate to take on Donald Trump. What has changed?
