this is probably subject to some scrambling, but this was accurate last night.

Other scheduled speakers included: Cindy McCain, the candidate's wife; former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney; former eBay Inc. CEO Meg Whitman; former Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO Carly Fiorina, and Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman.

I am reading that bristol palin's fiance will be at the convention tonight during sarah palin's speech.
-
Palin is going to get more world wide eyeballs on her than Obama could ever hope to have had.. I hope she brings her game, cause we need to see some pushing back from her right from the starting gate.
If she nails it tonight, their ticket will be unstoppable ..

heh
Can you imagine the swarm of handlers scurrying about him; dressing him, grooming him, telling him where to stand, how to look, to be supportive of Bristol but avoid anything that might be misconstrued as sexual, etc etc etc.
I bet if he'd seen this coming...

This is the McCain campaign pledge today...they're going on the offense. Michael Steele was just on Fox News about Palin's ss# being stolen/released. They are also comparing the covers and articles on Palin and contrasting them with Obama's coverage...It's sickening to say the least. The left is out to destroy her, to destroy her credibility and they're publishing lies about her without any fact.
Tonight's speakers need to come out swinging, gloves off.

Sources: Romney, Huckabee slated for Wednesday
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) — Former governors Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are slated to speak at the Republican National Convention Wednesday evening according to sources. McCain's two former rivals will address attendees at 9:00 p.m., ET.
A convention official would only confirm that the 10:00 pm hour would feature former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin.

I hope she does her hair a little softer, sexier, then just nails the Dems to the wall. they can't stand it that she is so good looking

The woman has given birth to and is raising 5 children. Speaking to a nationwide audience is a walk in the park.

I gots me $20 in my pocket that says skirt.
Any takers?

Strange as it sounds coming out of my mouth (or should I say keyboard) The election now rests in the hands of an unknown (as of a week ago) Governor of a mostly neglected state giving her speech at the RNC before her nomination for VP.
I would have never EVER imagined that a potential VEEP could be so important to any party. The mind boggles.
Anyway, I expect she will kick ass, for 3 reasons ;
a ) She has gone from a happy place to a woman scorned with some of the lowest, nastiest crap I have ever seen in politics. The junk the Obamatons flung at Hillary seems like little league baseball in comparison. She IS going to react.
b ) The whole Caribou Barbie meme has lowered the bar. People think she is dumb. They will be floored.
c ) She young and dynamic - in many ways Obama's equal in terms of "Star Quality" - The PalinStar! if you will. Her magnetic quality can only help.
-

Hope it is a skirt; It is a crime to hide bodacious gams like hers. :naughty:
-
I also hope it's a skirt. I hope she looks beautiful. It will be a big smack in the face to the feminist nazi dyke movement.
Yes, those of the rachael maddow ilk, you can be successful, smart, accomplished AND beautiful.

I would love for her to come onstage with a big huge rifle and a moose head. Then say "in Alaska we hunt moose. This one talked about my family. Any questions?"

The press parasites up in the galleries would shit themselves, and the Secret Service (who would have been alerted ahead of time, of course) wouldn't even bat an eyelid.
That would be fun to watch, no doubt about it.

"Cap and trade"...

I must have missed that. Was she referring to pollution?
Drinking and parsing political speechifying isn't easy.

Huge reception for Michael Steele.

"DRILL, BABY, DRILL!" Ha ha ha, I love it. :-)
This guy needs a place in McCain's administration.

drill baby drill, and drill now!!

I believe so. She was talking about all the things McCain would do, and that was one of things she mentioned.

Mittens is up. Let's see if he gives as good a speech as Mr. Steele. :cheersmate:

Not bad so far Mitt.

-
Ooohh, the hurt... Ooohh, the pain...
Oh, ah-go-ny...aaaa-gooo-nyyy...
Biden will be feeling that one for a while.

Huh. They must have bumped Lingle up. There was supposed to be a musical break followed by Lingle and Giuliani.
-
She's introducing Palin
-
So no Giuliani tonight?
-
So no Giuliani tonight?
I don't know. I actually wanted to hear what he had to say.

The mayor's coming

On C-Span, it says Giuliani is next, or will be up in the next few minutes.

Well, I hope someone else is up soon. 'Cause this woman is putting me to sleep unfortunately.

Well, I hope someone else is up soon. 'Cause this woman is putting me to sleep unfortunately.
She's hitting all the right notes, but she is kinda dry.
-
According to Drudge, Sarah Palin's speech is supposed to run 40 minutes, and it's a real barn-burner.
I dunno if that's too long or not, but one hopes it's full of zest and vigor.
-
"ZERO!" "ZERO!" "ZERO!"
:rotf: The crowd is cracking me up.
-
This lady laid into Joe Biden. Good stuff.
-
Rudy's up :rocker:

You know what? I wish Ms. Palin would get somebody to babysit the little one. Bristol is soon to have her own baby. Every time we see Bristol she is holding the baby. Maybe Dad could hold the baby. Just a thought. I feel sorry for Bristol.

I don't get why people feel so bad for Bristol. It's not like something horrible happened to her. Like a lot of seventeen-year-olds, she got pregnant, she has the support of a loving family, and apparently she's getting married to the babiy's father.
It's not like she was hit by a truck and is disfigured for life or got some rare terminal disease that will leave her in agony until she dies a horrible, painful death. She's having a baby. I always thought that was supposed to be a joyous event.
-
Change is not a destination as hope is not a strategy -- Damn :D

Thanks Rudy for my new sig line.....

Drill, baby, drill. :-)

Drill baby drill! I think it already shows that I dug that line. :evillaugh:

"The Democratic party have given up on Iraq... and they have given up on America."
High-five, Rudy.

none of the above, because she has been in the very viscous nasty press for four days, now she is sitting there in front of the whole world. None of this notoriety is of her choosing. Now Cindy McCain has the little one.

Rudy is just puttin' the wood to hussein!
"Russia has VETO POWER (you dumb ass!)"
Next time, call John McCain!

Rudy just stomped a mudhole in Barry's ass. John McCain called it on the Russia/Ossetia situation, and they know it.
-
"Maybe they cling to religion there (in Wasilla)..."
oh my. :rotf:
-
Sets Sarah up -- gets her quals out there.
Rudy, I am straight but I want to kiss you on the lips, man!

One thing is for sure - Rudy doesn't give a rats ass about being Politically correct - God Bless him :)

Well yes there's that but her mom is making history, she's actually a very blessed child. It's not like she's pregnant and having to be in court very day because her mom is a Serial Mom knocking off people who dare to wear white after Labor Day.

Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!
Energy? Low taxes? 80% approv. rating?
I feel a "yeeeeeeeeeeaarrrrrrrrrr"!! coming on. :lmao:

That ovation is sending a clear message: Sarah, we are behind you and we have your back! **** with her you **** with all of us!"

Now we know why her speech time was revised up! :-)

She's loaded for bear. You can just see it.

"and as a mother of one of those troops"
Kick their ass, Sarah!

John Boehner is up to introduce John Kyle.
Wish they'd let Boehner speak. He's getting a lot of publicity lately.
-
It was a good speech in terms of delivery. She had a few errors on the transitions, but, the content was dynamite.
-
the commentary from the PMSNBC pukes is killing me. laura o'donnell said she nailes it, but then called her "sarcastic" and that she spent a good bit of time making "comparative" comments. :-)

andrea mitchell is upset with rudy for "belittling" BHO. :whatever:

Got money on McCain dropping Palin from the ticket? That stock is down 11 points! :evillaugh:

That's a HUGE drop. McCain's been trailing BO 15-20 points on I/T since the Dem convention.

rachel maddow is criticizing sarah palin's sarcasm and "belittling, nasty sniping"
rachel ****ING maddow, for cryin' out loud. :-)
-
rachel maddow is criticizing sarah palin's sarcasm and "belittling, nasty sniping"
rachel ******* maddow, for cryin' out loud. :-)
Rachel Maddow is confused right now....she's attracted to Sarah, but has to stay true to her libtard beliefs.
-
Why did Az "pass" ?!?!?!?!?
-
Why did Az "pass" ?!?!?!?!?
It's a tradition.
-
Why did Az "pass" ?!?!?!?!?
az is mccain's home state. they will come back to az to put him over the top
-
This way, just before McCain has the number needed to win the nomination, the next state up "passes" to his home state, so it (Arizona) gets the honor of putting their man over the top.
It's just a tradition.
-
The Florida delegation is up.
This could have been MUCH, MUCH worse. He could have nominated Charlie Crist. :-)
-

maddow just accused sarah palin of pronouncing "the hard words" "phonetically". :whatever: :-)

I'm glad you clarified that. I was wondering what I missed. :p

She is being stupid...as usual....and no smiles either.
Larry King will have a democratic response tonight....I'm going to flip to him as well to see what they have to say. They will be very mad too....aww :( :-)
-
better late than never, Rudy was terrific and Governor Palin ? Hat trick baby ! Hat trick !
-
Not so many cheers for the Kansas Jayhawks. :-)
-
The DUmmies are crapping all over themselves right now. They don't quite know what to make of it. :lmao:
-
those dipshits are not actually complaining about the press getting picked on are they?
-

That's about to happen in a minute. He's at 1013 votes now and they're up to Minnesota.
-
those dipshits are not actually complaining about the press getting picked on are they?
They are complaining about everything--the press digs, Obama digs, her pronunciation of "big words," her bullying ways....It's great. :-)
-
chuck todd is using the word "sarcastic" on MSNBC again. even if it is true, does he realize that a lot people find that to be a good thing?
-

they're getting bullied by a girl again. :rotf:

Now they're all passing. There might be a couple of small states that will vote though.
-
chris matthews says that sarah was running (speaking) against michelle as a "partner" to mccain, whatever the hell that means. :whatever:
-
"John McCain's best friend, Lindsey Graham." :lmao:
Looks like they're going to kep passing. Someone wants to be first.
-
they are talking to a delegate from CA that was worried about sarah palin. she said that he knew nothing
about her before tonight, and had been watching the reports on TV.
after Sarah Palin's speech, she was totally converted to a Sarah Palin supporter.
-
I'm geeked. I couldn't get away from the TV.
If I die, someone move me to Chicago so I can still vote for McCain/Palin.
-
Pennsylvania is clinging to their guns and religion, but they're not bitter. :rotf:
-
the teleprompter operator apparently screwed up tonight, and she had to deal with that, too.
-
keith is finding "holes" in her speech now. one is that criticising community organizers is going to piss them all off. the other is that revealing when her son is deploying is a violation of operational security. and then something about the date of deployment.
desperate son of a bitch. :whatever: he couldn't get his mouth off barack obama's male organ after his speech. :-)
-
sarcasm about community organizers = elitism. yes, keith just said that.
oh, and he said that if you need to be treated with kid gloves but come out swinging, then people are going to swing back. :whatever:
-
Larry King's guest mouth-foaming. One went as far as to say her speech fell short... :lmao:
-
I just watched a recording of tonights convention.
Sarah sure hit a grand slam. I love the fact that she really took the gloves off and slammed Obama.
-
Larry King's guest mouth-foaming. One went as far as to say her speech fell short... :lmao:
rebroadcast is on PMSNBC; it's rudy right now. :-)

I think people have been wondering for months what the hell a community organizer does. I know I did, and it wasn't especially easy to figure out.

No, tell the druggies that they don't qualify for welfare because THE MAN is holding them down and encourages them to take a shit on the public capitol building steps.

oh, and he said that if you need to be treated with kid gloves but come out swinging, then people are going to swing back. :whatever:
one of the last threads i read over there tonight had a subject line that said, "im still fuming about those community organizer quips"
apparently, the OPs boyfriend was a community organizer and people started piling on saying, "sarah has drawn a firm line in the sand... the community organizers of the US will let her have it come election time!!"
i just had no idea.. :lmao:

I thought Sarah knocked it out of the park.
Rudy was awesome too. He's a great public speaker.
I'm sure I'll have more thought after my coffee kicks in.
-
Had to work last night so I missed it, but good thing Fox has video. Watching the clip of Rudy right now.
"A community organizer??" LOL! DAYUM!!!! Rudy is really ripping the Obamessiah apart! Especially all of Obama's "Present" votes. What kind of idiot votes "present" 130 times?? From what I've read, Palin's speech was good too, but ya gotta love the AP and Reuters with all the Bristol Belly Shots..... figures.
-
(family moving up to the stage?)
Hope there is a BIG finish coming! Palin has been fantastic so far!
her little girl Piper, licking her hand and smoothing the babies hair down... that was just cute as hell.. :lmao:
Is she not the sweetest thing ever?!?!?!? That was adorable!!! :-)
-
I'd love to hear how this is playing to people who don't want to vote for McCain. Has she changed your mind?
The speech, and Sarah generally, played very well with my wife and I, both of which had no interest in McCain before he signed her onto the ticket. We were leaning strongly to Bob Barr.
-
I think people have been wondering for months what the hell a community organizer does. I know I did, and it wasn't especially easy to figure out.
Help people sign up for foodstamps, welfare, extend unemployment benefits, ya know, helping people find a way to buck the system and milk taxpayers.

most people dont... but if you listen carefully to Obama's people when they talk about it, it was 'more than 20 years ago' which would make him early 20s and right out of college.
this is one of those 'resume enhancing' jobs that college kids think will help them down the road. it may or may not, but its mostly about relationships and doing the grunt work for the leaders in the community. its a dues paying thing. that's all.
but yes, lest we besmirch the Community Organizers of America, we shall fall back and stop critisizing Obama on this most specialized field he toiled in ..lo those many long weeks.. :whatever: :-)

Highlights of Rudy's speech last night
"On the other hand, you have a resume from a gifted man with an Ivy League education," Giuliani said of Obama. "He worked as a community organizer, and immersed himself in Chicago machine politics. Then he ran for the state legislature, where nearly 130 times he was unable to make a decision yes or no. He simply voted 'present.'"
Giuliani said he was never afforded such a luxury as mayor of New York City and Obama is in for a rude awakening if he thinks he can take that kind of cavalier approach into the White House.
"When you're President of the United States, you can't just vote 'present,'" Giuliani said. "You must make decisions."
"So, our opponents want to reframe the debate. They would have you believe that this election is about change versus more of the same. But that's really a false choice because 'change' is not a destination ... just as "hope" is not a strategy."
Giuliani also intimated that Obama is a politician who changes his position to suit his own interests.
"How many times have we seen Barack Obama do that? Obama was going to take public financing for his campaign, until he didn't. Obama was against wiretapping before he voted for it. When speaking to a pro-Israel group, Obama favored an undivided Jerusalem, until the very next day when he changed his mind.
"I hope for his sake, Joe Biden got that VP thing in writing."
