4. I saw some YouTube videos about the citizens from the Ukraine fighting back.
Not just the regular Army but citizens going into reserves.
Men and women both.
Military training with guns.
The citizens do not want Putin.

the world just can't be bothered with this, frankly. covid has cost the global economy trillions of dollars, every major power is dealing with political strife from right wing lunatics trying to spread the virus... we enough problems here and while i support helping ukraine with materials, we just cannot afford the cost in money or lives it would take to kick Russia out. There is just to much to deal with here.
of course, the Democrats will be CRUSHED for letting russia take ukraine, but they would also be CRUSHED for going to war over this when so many Domestic issues need attention. As always, there is nothing the Democrats can do that won't draw fury from the media.

WW1 started because various countries had alliances with other countries to introduce troops should they be attacked. That war was a result of the dominoes falling.
WW2 started in earnest when Germany attacked France through Belgium who, again, had alliances with Britain.
With whom does Ukraine have military alliances exactly? Answer me that, beetwhacker.
NATO has a partnership with Ukraine, but that's all. Military war only starts if the US and/or NATO starts it. Or Russia, of course, by invading a NATO country.

Not to side with the DUmmies, but speaking as someone whose brother lives in Lviv, the issue as he puts it is that Lviv and other such western cities in Ukraine are near enough geographically to several EU nations that a Russian movement into those particular city will almost certainly be seen by those EU nations as a potential act of aggression against them, which in turn could potentially trigger a world war.
