I believe the messaging on mask wearing needs to shift.

I don't go out much, but when I do, I usually have trouble believing what I see with my own eyes.

"Please wear a mask in indoor settings" repeated ad nauseam by influential people does not seem to be cutting it, does it?

Masks are being worn under the nose.

Masks are lazily being worn on chins.

Single layer bandanna masks. Surgical masks with HUGE gaps along the sides and top, thus rendering them useless.

As per usual, officials dance on a fine line of keeping the economy open and trying to keep people from dying. It's been like this for almost two years, and it's not working. Reluctant maskers decide for themselves what constitutes "wearing a mask".

If you have gaps between your skin and your mask, you are not wearing a mask. If you have thick facial hair that pulls your mask away from your skin, you are not wearing a mask. If you are lazy and nonchalant about where your mask is located on your face, you are not wearing a mask.

You have probably noticed that both paid and volunteer firemen usually only sport mustaches rather than full beards, if they have any facial hair at all. This is because beards render their respirators useless, and they would likely face immediate death if entering a smoke filled building with a respirator sitting on facial hair.

1) Proper N95's need to be made available to everyone, for free.

2) "Please wear a mask while indoors" needs to change to "you MUST where a properly fitted N95 mask while indoors among others. Anything other than this, and you will be considered to be maskless, and you are doing nothing to provide an effective physical barrier to help protect yourself and others".

3) Media needs to be flooded with educational material on how to properly fit an N95 mask.

4) The above messaging needs to be consistent, truthful, and firm.

5) Specific, strong and borderline harsh messaging lends credence and legitimacy to the urgency that is necessary.

I know I'll catch some flames with this post, but Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Peace to you all anyway.

Wow.

1. Asking for more free shit. Not surprised.

2. Can’t get an N95 or equivalent you must be shunned!  Even if you have a medical condition!!!

3. You don’t know what a true fit test is. I promise. It’s not putting on a mask and someone telling you it fits well or spraying something to see if you can smell it. I get fit tested every year and it takes about 15-20 minutes with you trying in masks that are hooked to a machine registering how much ambient air is coming in while you do exercises.

4. Then post the truth. Tell everyone how it actually works and that they’ll have to stand in line waiting to be tested and until they can get tested they can’t go anywhere.

5. Yes, please let the beatings continue until moral improves.

Oh, and everyone who is male will be required to shave every day and that shave inspected by one of the new 86,000 IRS agents before you can leave your home because … mask compliance.

Fascist bastards.

It seems to me most of the mask signs I've seen have said "No mask, no service", or "Masks required".

I lost any faith in government telling me to wear a mask when fauci first told us masks weren't necessary then flip flopped and said he told us that because he didn't want a big rush from the public to get masks that would reduce then number available to the medical professionals.

fauci lied to us once so I have no reason to ever believe another thing he says regarding masks.  His credibility is zero with me.

The DUchebag is right in a blind squirrel way. The messaging does need to change because masks do NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL!

Just take a look if you can read and have the slightest comprehension... which I seriously doubt.

4. The biggest benefit to wearing a mask is irritating the anti maskers.

Getting it wrong, but at least the primitive admits that the mask doesn't do shit.

A conservative estimate:  I've seen ten videos of masked people losing their shit on the maskless for every one video I've seen of unmasked people freaking out over someone wearing a mask.  A very conservative estimate.

I’ve never said a word to anyone who’s masked. I think it’s ridiculous, but I’ve never said anything. If someone wants to wear it I don’t care. I don’t care about your vaccination status either. I won’t ask, I don’t need you to tell. I simply expect the same courtesies.

I can't find it now but I remember seeing a sign on a business door that said, to the effect,

"This is a gun store. If you come in here wearing a mask you'll probably get shot"...

On the three discussion sites I currently frequent I've never seen a post from a member who started @#$% with a mask wearer (other than responding with @#$% when the mask wearer started @#$%).

I've never seen a video or in person of a sane maskless person ever going off on the masked. Never. I have seen maskless people return fire on some asshole masker yelling at them but even that is so rare as to be zero.

Merry Christmas to all the decent and civilized people here and across the world.

I remember a ton of videos when this first started off people smacking unmasked folks in stores, or dumping buckets of liquid on them all while the DUmmies cheered.

It was sad.

It doesn't cut shit because time after time we see these people you call influential partying with huge crowds indoors and ignoring every rule they try to force on us.

And that's where you're problem is.

People with a title or government power pushing mask BS,  without any respect to whether those people are right or wrong in their attempts to influence, are influential in your view.

Credibility is more than just having a title or some power ,DUmmy.

See preznit aqualungs low approval ratings for a perfect example.

I realize it's an artifact of the lens used for the picture, but it is WEIRD! The Carters look Charlie McCarthy-sized compared to the LIEdens, who are closer to the camera.
