Xmas postponed, Un-boosted son tests positive
fever 103 degrees
tells me he will be ok because he listens to Joe Rogan and takes his vitamins
smart enough to get his first 2 vaccines but decided he was young and healthy enough to risk not getting boosted
Now, he is home with my 2 beautiful grandchildren who they assure us will be fine,
I am angry, sad, discouraged and baffled.
I have turned off the carols.
Anybody want any xmas cookies?
I have plenty.

1. Firstly, happy Christmas. Secondly, **** Rogan. Thirdly, it's bizarre
that he wouldn't get the booster having already been double vaccinated.

2. I am so sorry, my dear kpete. This has got to hurt a lot.
He sure does need the booster shot, but that depends on how long ago he got the original vaccines.
I know this is hard, but try to be gentle in your persuasion. You don't want to have him dig in his heels.
If possible, make him quarantine in his room. That might be enough to get him to see the necessity of the booster. I hope!

4. Oh no, kpete.
The worst is when covid comes between families, and the people who are vaxxed and cautious are stuck worrying about the people who aren't--the people they love even if they are acting stupidly and the people who have no choice, like your grandchildren.
I'm so sorry. Humbug is a mild response. I hope the DU people help, even if only a little.

6. 1. Joe Rogan doesn't tell people not to get boosted. 2. Joe Rogan is not vaccinated.
So, does he really listen to Joe Rogan?

smart enough to get his first 2 vaccines
and that wasn't good enough? Does the vaccine work or not?

No. No it doesn’t. Not as a vaccine, but as a therapeutic it’s probably ok.

I would like to see some real numbers of vaxed people who have caught the virus and unvaxed people who have caught it and people who have caught the virus catching it for a second time.

I'd catagorize it as more of a placebo personally, if I actually thought for a second that what's in it was actually harmless...

Good luck with that...

What are the bets that the son is just fine and has claimed to be infected to get out of Christmas dinner with a DUmmy?

With all the government backed fauci flu tests going out, what if they were all just set up to go positive since biden needs fear for control for longer?

Noting says "VACCINE" like getting the disease (cold) after getting the "vaccine" and the "booster."
To all DUmmys, I have a B-E-A-utifil bridge in northern Kalifornia I would like to sell you at a steeply discounted price.

Amazing how blind they are.

regarding getting the chi-vi after being twice vaccinated and boosted, my sister called me to inform me that she tested positive on a home test this morning.
The plan had been for my sister, her family and myself to meet with my mom who is approaching 90 and dealing with dementia and lives in a board and care facility. In all likelihood, this will be the last Christmas we will have with my mom as if she is still around for Christmas next year it is highly likely that she won't have any memory of who we are or what we are celebrating, so I chose to stay back from going with my wife, daughter and grandkids to spend Christmas with her family who live in Vegas so I can spend time with my mom on her possibly last Christmas. Now I will be visiting with my mom without my sister being present, but at least I'm still with my mom.
Getting back to my sister's test result, she is a former RN and very religious about always wearing a mask, but fortunately she's not a mask nazi or scold, but even with all the precautions she has taken with the vaccines and masks, she has still tested positive for what she describes as feeling like a minor cold.

Majority of mumps cases are among the vaccinated, CDC finds
https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/majority-mumps-cases-are-vaccinated-cdc-finds-rcna6482 (https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/majority-mumps-cases-are-vaccinated-cdc-finds-rcna6482)
Mumps cases continue to circulate in the U.S., largely among vaccinated people, including children.
Cases of mumps, once a common childhood illness, declined by more than 99 percent in the U.S. after a vaccine against the highly contagious respiratory infection was developed in 1967. Cases dropped to just 231 in 2003, down from more than 152,000 in 1968. But cases began climbing again in 2006, when 6,584 were reported, most of them in vaccinated people.
According to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one-third of mumps cases in the U.S. from 2007 to 2019 were reported in children and adolescents. As many as 94 percent of those who contracted the illness had been vaccinated.
Also, contrary to the anti-Covid-vaxxer narrative, the term "breakthrough infection" was not created to cover up Covid vaccine imperfection. It was used at least as early as 2009. Anti-Covid-vaxxers are exploiting ordinary people's lack of awareness of this.

Yikes, sorry to hear DlrPyro. As we all know, no "vaccine" can prevent all cases and we should never expect there to be a COVID Zero. It doesn't fit politically, as the libs/media have been using it as panic porn for almost 2 years.
Now most DUmmies will find Uncle Ralphie's adventures on Christmas Eve downright appalling. Went to my "second family's" house with my mom for a Christmas gathering with 25 or so people. Not a single person inquired about one's vaccination status, nor did anyone wear a face bra. Just hearing that would give most leftists the vapors.

I’m sorry to read that your sister is ill and unable to see your elderly mom. That absolutely sucks. Prayers for all of you.
I’m glad her symptoms are mild though.

Thanks for the kind thoughts.
My sister called me this morning and the pcr test that was taken Friday was also positive. She feels fine except for minor cold like symptoms. No fever, aches, shortness of breath or any of the drama the left is trying to peddle.
She will quarantine until Jan 1 and until she gets a negative test back.
Fortunately for her she lives less than 3 miles from the home my mom is at so she can easily see her when she is recovered. I live 70 miles away and cant see her as often as I want, but feel good I was able to spend time with her on Christmas eve and Christmas day.

Glad to hear the case is very mild. Ordering an oximeter via Amazon (or Costco?) might be good, since blood oxygen starts dropping days before it is perceived in symptoms.
Long long ago I chose Silicon Valley over MA or TX for my career in electronics because Silicon Valley was "only" ~120 miles from my aging parents' home. When the times came, that 2+ hour drive might as well have been 1,000. Thankfully I had had many years visiting them by the time the time came, and their decline was gradual rather than being out of the blue.
