Tesla's Musk says he will pay over $11 bln in taxes this year
Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said on Sunday on Twitter that he will pay more than $11 billion in taxes this year.
Earlier this week, Democratic U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren took to Twitter to say that Musk should pay taxes and stop "freeloading off everyone else" after Time magazine named him its "person of the year".
Musk responded by saying that he "will pay more taxes than any American in history this year".
Musk is the world's richest person and his company Tesla is worth about $1 trillion. Over the last few weeks, Musk has sold nearly $14 billion worth of Tesla shares.

Rich people like Musk, for whom I have no particular love or hate, create jobs that produce something. Social program leeches like UGP produce bureaucrats, who harm the country.

You DO remember that the Dim'Rats are the party that kicked off the Civil War in the US in order to preserve slavery.
That should speak volumes about how much is a "fair share" in their warped, corrupted opinions...

I failed to point out in my original post that Musk doesn't seem to be complaining about actually paying the $11 billion in taxes, but was responding to warren's claim he's a free loader
How many people does he employ with Tesla, Space X, and his solar energy companies? How much do his emoyees pay in taxes they earn rather than sit at home and demand government assistance?
How much carbon has his Tesla fleet and solar energy removed from the planet?
Enough is never enough for rabid socialists like warren.

One reason Dems' regs tend to kill small businesses is that the number of targets are reduced, and bigger targets are easier to demonize.

I don't understand this Tesla thing at all. We all know that the batteries that power these vehicles go south and recycling them is expensive, wasteful, and far beyond what it costs to maintain standard internal combustion engines. Can owning a Tesla be a status symbol of sorts? Kinda looks that way to me.
I do understand that Musk is a very bright guy, an entrepreneur, and someone with a vision. Good for him. But I ain't sold on the electric car crap. :nunchuck:

I believe most who buy a Tesla do it either for status, virtue signaling, have truly gone over the edge regarding climate porn, or they want a comfortable car.
My daughter bought a single motor Model 3 last August. This is the lowest offering Tesla offers but it is still a really nice car. I would describe her as very intelligent and apolitical, and doesn't ascribe to all the climate change rhetoric. Her main reason for buying one was she needed a new car and the hospital she works at provides free charging for staff who have electric cars so her fuel bill is essentially zero.
getting back to warren and her boneheaded comments about Musk being a free loader, I saw this tweet yesterday where Musk replied to a tweet about warren seeking people donate $10.00 to help her buy face book ads.
Musk replied by asking Is @SenWarren really someone we want as a US senator?

Why is
@SenWarren
buying ads on Facebook to promote her post bashing
@elonmusk
AND asking ppl to pay her $10?
She’s literally asking ppl to give her $10 while claiming Elon is scared of her.

This is such a deeply messed up lie to the American people. She is the one freeloading off taxpayers, while I’m paying the largest amount of tax of any individual in history.
Is
@SenWarren
really someone we want as a US senator?

Well done warren. You got yourself into a colossal pissing match with the richest man on the planet, not to mention a man that many of your political party almost worship because of his determination to rid the planet of gas guzzling vehicles.

Elon Musk has confirmed on Twitter that his 2021 tax bill will be around $11 billion, thanks to his sale of Tesla stock this year. This amount may not be enough to satisfy the CEO’s staunchest critics, but $11 billion is no joke. It does equate, after all, to Elon Musk paying over $1.5 million worth of taxes for every day since he became a US citizen in 2002 or about $1 million worth of taxes per day since he started studying business and physics at the University of Pennsylvania way back in 1992.
Musk’s estimate for his 2021 taxes is in line with expectations from agencies such as CNBC, which noted that the CEO had already paid $7 billion in state and federal taxes this year, with about $5 billion more expected to be paid by January 1, 2022. The news agency noted that the figures could represent “the single biggest tax bill ever,” thanks in part to Musk’s combined tax rate of 53%.

Next year he should opt to pay all his taxes in pennies :rotf:

How much carbon has his Tesla fleet and solar energy removed from the planet?
That's a very good question.
How much pollution has his companies produced to manufacture all that shit?
And how is the electricity being generated to charge his cars that the average person can't afford?
Has he developed a safe environmentally acceptable solution to dispose of the batteries and their associated waste?
