Lindsay Lohan Says Bristol Palin's Pregnancy Is 'Distracting' Voters From Real Issues
Actress blogs that Sarah Palin should focus on campaign, not daughter's pregnancy.
While speaking to the delegates of the Republican National Convention on Monday, vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin announced that her 17-year-old-daughter, Bristol, is five months pregnant. The chatter sparked by the news included a few words from someone who knows what it's like to be a teenage girl in the public eye: Lindsay Lohan took to her MySpace blog to weigh in on the issue.
"Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place," Lohan wrote. "It's distracting from the real issues, the real everyday problems that this country experiences.
She continued, "I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them — if elected. I get Sarah Palin's views against abortion, but I would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what."
She also talks about the importance of sex education for teenagers. "I think that parents need to recognize how important it is to talk to their children about the things that can result from being sexually active if they aren't protecting themselves (birth control, condoms, etc.)," she wrote.
Tuesday morning (September 2), media outlets began running details from the MySpace page of the father of Bristol's baby, 18-year-old Levi Johnston. (The MySpace page has since been removed.) The Wasilla, Alaska, hockey player's page had listed him as being in a relationship, but under his "children" status, Johnston opted for "I don't want kids."
On Monday, Sarah Palin issued a statement about Bristol's pregnancy saying that she and her husband, Todd, are "proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support." The statement noted that Bristol and Johnston will marry, and asked that the media "respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."

She should be relieved that it's distracting the media from her and SaMAN Ronson her butch girlfriend.
Again Lohan is proving Kid Rock rock correct...celebrities should not talk about politics.
-
Firstly Lindsay, Bristol's pregnancy wasn't an issue until the liberals forced Sarah's hand with 'babygate' - blame them.
Secondly, by talking about it you are helping to keep a topic alive that you seem to have no interest in.

Lindsay has a lot of room to talk about "distracting" people. :thatsright: I guess she's pimping a new movie or something. :whatever:
Meanwhile, Dina often "let her do whatever she wanted, just to keep her happy and working . . . [At her 16th birthday party] Lindsay drank whatever she wanted - I saw her drinking beer and mixed drinks with my own eyes [without Dina's intervention]."
As Lindsay's manager, Dina - who was desperate to become a star herself - received 10 percent of her income. "Lindsay was the family cash cow - and she resented it," Almeida claims. "They counted on her to pay their bills . . . I saw Lindsay exhausted, begging her mother for some time off."
Young Lindsay's parents looked the other way as she began a life of boozing, boys and drugs. When she was 15, they allowed her to share a room with her then-14-year-old boyfriend, Aaron Carter, at Loews in Miami Beach. Almeida relates, "They knew Lindsay was sleeping in Aaron's room. But they seemed happy she had chosen somebody who could benefit her singing career."
By age 18, Lindsay had moved on to harder substances. Almeida recalls walking in on her and another celebrity in a closet at a club one night as they sniffed white powder.
The ex-bodyguard also claims Lindsay cried out for help for years by cutting herself and threatening suicide. Lindsay's reps did not reply to our e-mails.
Let's see, two DUI's, a stint or two in rehab, crashing cars, etc...
Some role model there.....
STFU Lindsay.

Wow. She almost had me. Started off well enough (the issue is distracting), but then, well, this:
I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy
Stupid. Stupid. Stooooooooo-pid.

Yes indeed. Lohman is JUST the sort of person we should all be taking political advice from.
-
She's a desperate attention whore who doesn't know what she's talking about, using this 'scandal' for her own benefit.

Yes indeed. Lohman is JUST the sort of person we should all be taking political advice from.
Maybe we could get her and Brittany Spears wresting in a wading pool of lime jello while discussing marginal tax rates and the effect on start-up business costs in a high regulatory envirnoment.
yeah...

She needs to just shut up and shoot a lesbian porn video.
