So my wife and I were gun shopping today...
Just looking for a starter gun for her. I was shooting trap Saturday for the first time in 15 years, and it sparked her interest in in maybe getting a first gun. Mind you we both grew up in gun families, and while I grew up shooting, I don't do much of it now...
So we were at a big box outdoors store, checking out some single shot 20 gauges, I was explaining some basic stuff, safety, feel, caliber, etc., and we got some funny looks from the workers there. No one approached us to ask us for help, and we went on our merry way.
Later we realized that she was wearing her Obama Mama tshirt! That explained the sideways looks we were getting.
We decided that from now on, every time we walk into a gun shop one of us would wear a liberal shirt or button.
That'll confuse them. (Or get them calling the authorities!)
I smell me some moles. :loser:

1. I do the same thing
I wear my "Worst President Ever" T-shirt when I buy ammo. They look at it and do a double take.
Not to be out done.

6. Unfortunately, the discussion would most likely include..
Bans...THAT APPLY TO BOTH RURAL AND URBAN DWELLERS ALIKE...
And could some one PLEASE EXPLAIN to Obama, that AK-47's have been TIGHTLY regulated since the 1930's.
Imagine that...
How's that for Government efficiency. They were controled before they were invented.

cue-ing TiTty primative with his expert ANALysis on why djkevvy's wife should plunk down the extra money for the M204 granade launcher with the 10 round box magazine in 3...2...

We bought another AK today. No bouncy. Hubby seems to think that if the crap hits the fan that we really need to have matching AK-47s, SKSs, and XDs. :-) I have given up trying to convince him other wise.

I wasted money the the other day (in this * economy) and bought an airsoft M203 for my M4 Bushmaster.
120 6mm plastic bbs fired with inert gas.
It looks so freakin' cool I wish the North Koreans would cross the border and attack my house.
(well...not all of them, of course. I have only two rounds for it just at the moment)

...and after he teachers her everything he knows, I'd still rather hunt with Dick Cheney.

Never really got into skeet shooting but if done at a professional range you really need a double barrel of some kind as two birds are thrown or the need for a quick second shot if the first is a miss.
Correct me if I am wrong but if not it would indicate this person thinks he knows enough about a topic to spin an accurate story.

I shot Trap, Skeet and DTL back in the last years of highschool.
Some events had two targets in the air at once, others only one. Still used two shots for one target though (hit the clay, then hit the biggest fragment).
Most people, as in 95% had over under doubles. A couple had heirloom style side by sides. No one used a single barrel weapon, other than the very rare semi's. (This was before The Great Gun Grabâ„¢).

That was my observation from the couple of times I went to a range, but experience being very limited I didn`t want to make a statement as such outright.
When the poster said single shot I suspected that he really didn`t know what he thinks he does when crafting this tale.

I think being armed is a good idea (although I can't convince my wife, but she is willing to entertain getting one of those police-style taser-guns [$500!]). But an arsenal when the Revolution comes is probably pretty futile -- they will be large gangs with more ammo anyway.
But having matching AK's is kinda cool, as long as it is in the context of just liking them and using them against random burglars and for the shooting range.

If I saw someone with a hussein shirt buying guns I would tell them "you know, he will rip that gun out of your hands -- and if not him, then the Brady-bill democratic congress that will run his agenda."

You would be correct. For skeet to need a good double barrel shotgun or better yet a good pump or semi, loaded with two rounds for each time you go up and shoot at the targets.

Pump is pretty useless for skeet, trap and DTL , at least IMO.
Club I was part of disallowed semi's in competition events too, could still use one for practice and friendly events though.
The DU'er clearly doesn't compete regularly if at all.

I've done ok with skeet using a pump action. But it was recreational and not competition shooting.
