Covering the "why" inflation is happening.
I was watching the NBC Nightly News last night, and the lead story was about inflation (Is it just me or do they do a segement EVERY night about inflation?). Not ONCE did they explain WHY inflation is happening other than to give a platform to Mitch McConnell to ream the Deomcrats. I'm sure some of this is related to supply chain issues or its somwhat complicated to cover in a two-minute package. Same thing on my local news last night which was even WORSE! Just "inflation" is up with graphics with double digit increases.

1. Inflation is one of the biggest worries among right-wingers...
... because it diminishes the real value of accumulated wealth among their property-class of constituents.
It can be a problem for everyone else too, of course, but not so much if their wages (or retirement benefits) increase as well.
But inflation is still a bigger concern to people with millions of bucks, hoping to continue using that wealth to earn more money instead of actually working for it.
The Thurston Howells of the world don't want the professor to create a money-printing machine on Gilligan's Island, or he might not get to comfortably lean back and sip through a straw from a coconut cup while the peons there actually work.

2. They were at it again this morning.
Nothing but hair-on-fire bullshit. No mention of the corporate gouging that's a large part of the cause of it. I turned it off. Won't be turning them back on again.

1. Inflation is one of the biggest worries among right-wingers...
... because it diminishes the real value of accumulated wealth among their property-class of constituents.
Of course it is a concern for the makers in society who get up every day and go to work to provide a nice existence for their families.
It's not so much of a concern for the takers in society who don't have a pot to pee in and will demand more government cheese when prices go up.

The wife and I had dinner at a local restaurant last night and there was a TV nearby tuned into nbc nightly news. I couldn't hear the sound but watching the stories they did a big segment on "soaring consumer prices" complete with pictures of gas station signs with prices exceeding $5.00 a gallon for all grades of fuel. It looked like they did some man on the street interviews with not so happy looking people and at one point they showed pictures of numerous container ships sitting at anchor outside the port of Los Angeles.
That segment was followed with panic porn that lead with a graphic that said "Covid surge coming"

Even if someone competent (that person being a conservative, for all the lurking DUers) were to try and explain it, you dolts wouldn’t get it. The LW quacks at NBC definitely are incapable of grasping it, much less explaining it, so it’s not a mystery why all they can do is throw up graphs and some video footage.
Don’t worry about trying to understand it in order to try to excuse it, primitives. If you understood it, you would also understand why you can’t spin it, and you would understand why LW policies not only caused it but is making it worse. Just stay put, repeat the ineffective lies the DNC tells you to say, and complain so we can watch and laugh at you. That’s your only purpose in life.

Ucky ducky ... back in ancient times (1980s) an Econ prof gave my Econ101 class a really simple practical definition of inflation: "Too much money chasing too few goods." Working from that:
* The Feds have dumped trillions of dollars into the US economy - Trump bears some blame, but LIEden more so, and Dem Congressional "leaders" even more than LIEden. Too much money chasing
* The Feds and state governments have constricted the supply of oil and consumer goods by restricting oil production and transportation, constricting port facility capacities across multiple states, and burdening production and transportation with regulations and the looming threat of a hostile Federal government. Too few goods.
Until government gets off producers' and transporters' ASS, significant inflation will be with us to stay.

Behold the genius's grasp on basic economics. Inflation is great for those that have assets. Those assets increase at or usually well above the inflation rate. Wages, get this, never keep up with inflation. Inflation hurts the working man but since DUchebags do not work, they think they don't have skin in the inflation game but they are wrong.
One side not, if inflation were calculated and included the same basket of goods as it did in the late 70s/early 80s the inflation rate would be over 15%. There is a reason food and energy, those volatile but need to be purchased items are not in the CPI. Just wait until the Biden Junta gets done rejiggering the inflation basket early next year to make the senile old pedo look good.
