Public Enemy No. 1
In 2020, the United States was attacked - not by an invading army, but by a deadly virus.
As the virus spread and its casualties mounted, what should have been a coming together of Americans facing a common enemy - as had happened after the attack on Pearl Harbor and in the aftermath of 9/11 - never happened.
Instead, some citizens defended themselves, their families, and their communities by taking every precaution necessary to keep the enemy at bay, while others chose to aid and abet the enemy by engaging in behaviour they had been warned would lead to increased sickness and death - which, of course, it ultimately did.
Some people chose to risk their own lives to save their fellow citizens, while others chose to side with a "pResident" and a party that was openly giving aid and comfort to the enemy by denying that enemy's existence, its ability to kill, its power to overwhelm our hospitals, our medical practitioners, and our caregivers.
Some people "walked the walk" and literally became their brothers' keeper, while others - who often profess to be good Christians - openly mocked those willing to do so.
If you've ever wondered what some of your fellow Americans would do if invaded by a foreign power, you now know.
Some citizens would fight to protect their country and their countrymen. Others would invite the enemy into their homes, serve them a lavish dinner, break out their best Scotch, and introduce them to their neighbours.
I think we all know who's who in this scenario.

Nan never considers that for people to be willing to pick up a weapon and defend a country, that the country for which they're fighting has to be worth dying for. The type of Marxist, anti-freedom gov't that Nan and those like her would have this country to become doesn't inspire anyone who treasures freedom, justice, and liberty to fight, much less to die. So I want to fight an invader so I can keep an iron-fisted regime who wants to lord it over its citizens? What's the point?
