Nothing like a non-American trying to explain American politics to us.

Let's be clear: John McCain has failed his first presidential test in SPECTACULAR FASHION
The selection of a running mate is frequently referred to as a candidate's first real test when running for president. There was no doubt that Barack Obama smoothly passed that test with his selection of the deeply experienced U.S. Senator Joe Biden.
And then came McCain. John McCain clinched his party's nomination all the way back on March 4. He's had six months to carefully select and vet a running mate, and what did he do? He waited until the absolute last moment - until Obama made his move - and then acted in a purely reactionary fashion. He made his selection rashly, on a whim.
His capriciousness has caused a total campaign meltdown. Sarah Palin was initially praised as a "bold" choice, but just over 72 hours later the media is feasting on the flesh of multiple scandals, including the revelation that she lied about opposing the "bridge to nowhere", that she used to belong to a secessionist party (so much for "country first"), that she is under investigation for abuse of power, and that her unmarried teenage daughter is pregnant. Now McCain and Palin are practically in hiding.
If this is any indication of the way he makes decisions, can you imagine the kind of damage he'll do to this country if he becomes president? He'll make George W. Bush look like Abraham Lincoln.
The bonfire's pretty big, but it's all the usual primitive ass-kissing.

Yeah...
...better to stick with an old white guy with a 35 year record of abject failure to diminish the glaring lack of experience in one's own campaign without necessarily making the other guy too attractive.
Joe Biden: the New Face of Affirmative Action

What better way to show you are the candidate for change than to select a guy who has been in the government for almost as long as you have been alive. :lmao:

If lord marblehead knew what he was doing he would not be an admin at the web's second most hate filled web site.
This is a glowing report to my ears that McCain hit one out of the park.

Except that he completely bobbled the pick to the point that he announced it at 3 in the morning, when most of those getting the text message were drunk out of their minds. And that's forgetting the fact that he picked the guy that would again raise his inexperience as an issue simply by his being on the ticket.
And then came McCain. John McCain clinched his party's nomination all the way back on March 4. He's had six months to carefully select and vet a running mate, and what did he do? McCain's used his pick to toy with the Democrats. Think about it. The very day that the Obamassiah was to give his Sermon on the Mount, there was Pawlenty cancelling interviews, Romney being seen with Secret Service looking guys. Totally distracting from the Barackstar. Then, the very next day, McCain makes a bold stroke that fires up his base, ends all discussion of the Sermon on the Mount, completely guts Obama's change message AND gets the Obama campaign themselves to bring up their own candidate's weakness- inexperience, BTW, making themselves look like jerks in the process. This was a stroke of brilliance on McCain's part.

You know, Winner, I don't think EarlG Lord Marblehead understands enough about American politics to really grasp what a great move that was, by John McCain.
Lord Marblehead should stick with his rock band.

I read that and all I can say is I am sorry guys. I share a country of birth with Earl G, but I promise he's nothing to do with me.

McCain failed ?
looking at DU, KOS, and the media it seems none of you can stop talking about Palin. Obama is no longer mentioned anywhere, except only in reference to the Governor of Alaska, and how his campaign has gone into full on attack mode using the same sexist techniques that were used against Hillary -- That everyone can see through BTW.
To me, Palin sounds like a spectacular success even though she has yet to say or do much of anything since her selection by McCain. Im fairly confident that her speech at the RNC is going to Kick Obama in the nuts, rip his lungs out, stick them between two pieces of bread and stuff the sandwich up his ass.. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Shame, because we do get the conventions broadcast live in the UK, I'd have stayed up until 4am to see that. :-)

We know that, madam.
No one need apologize for Lord Marblehead, who himself needs to apologize for his chutzpah in thinking he knows anything at all about something. Lord Marblehead should stick with his rock band.

She is going to eviscerate the bloviating, condescending plagiarist from a state with less populace than Alaska ass.

The only (small) concern I have is that after about the 3rd or 4th time she takes Slow Joe's own words and drop-kicks his ass between the proverbial uprights, the limp-dick media sycophant moderating the debate is going to start whining about Sarah's "piling on".

The moment that McCain announced the pick, I said to myself "Imagine, Biden getting beat up by a girl." :hammer: :chairshot:

It will be awesome - first she will outpace Obama with her speech - which should be easy because the Libtard media has set the bar so low already for her. Not to say she isnt capable, but the Libs have dubbed her Caribou Barbie, convincing folks that she is lucky to complete a sentence without giggling in the middle.
Then she will whoop Biden in the VP debate - Once you see the YouTube of her Debating for the governorship of Alaska its clear that she exerts grace under pressure. Whereas Biden just gets pissed off.

My wife was in the shower, and I was having a back spasm, when I flipped on Fox & Friends Friday morning. My jaw hit the ground, my back was magically pain-free, and I got my wife out of the shower to scream to her, "It's Palin! It's Palin!! It's Palin!!!" (She wasn't terribly happy that I interrupted her shower.)
A moonbat at work wasted no time in attacking me today, so I went after him on Obama's experience. He said, "You're parroting right-wing talking points." I responded, "you're parroting left-wing talking points. Kos, Move On, and so on." He goes, "I have my own mind." So, I started squawking like a parrot, saying, "Barack! Harvey (his name) want a cracker? Barack! Havery want a cracker?" He went batshit.
