So Laundrie's mother drove his Mustang back to their home in the middle of the night - she was wearing a baseball cap.

The North Port Police Department says officers mistook Brian Laundrie for his mother the week that he disappeared.

North Port Police Department spokesman Josh Taylor said Monday night that in the early days of the case, as officers surveilled the Laundrie home, they thought they saw Brian Laundrie return in the family Mustang on Sept. 15.

It was actually his mother, Roberta Laundrie, in a baseball cap.

“We thought it was with him,” Taylor said. “But it was her wearing a baseball cap, and they have a very similar build.”

The forensic pathologists examining the remains were not the same people who mistook the mom for Laundrie.

And, those stakeout cops weren't examining the remains.

It's likely the pathologists work for the city or county & not the cops, so not even the same organization.

I think you're out over your skis on this.
