A WDSU reporter is live right now saying that the water topping the flood wall has ceased and that the water level is down.

Very minor flooding but nothing like what we were seeing 3 years ago.

I just said a prayer for your friend, Tx.

Housley doesn't seem to be such a Drama Queen, or a Pompous Ass.  He just says what has to be said.

The first bands of Gustav just got to my house.  I was fixing to grill some steaks and portabello mushrooms and ...... it came in from the golf course side of the house.  I had to carry my bbq pit to the front.

I GOT WET!!!!  The horrors.

We are just east of Huntsville .... I don't think we will get more than about 25 - 30 mph winds and some rain ..... unless it stalls out over us then we could get a LOT of rain.

Right now it is just a good Monday afternoon to sit inside and watch the food cook on the front porch instead of the back deck.  This hurricane, has made me laugh.  The Democrats were hoping so bad for death and destruction because it was 'Proof that God is on their side' .... well, what about now that it has been a complete fizzle?   :-)

Bad News;

Because I had to move the pit to the front porch .... the house got some smoke in it.  I had to go back out and move it a little bit.  Will the horror's never end?!

I was so distraught I had to get a Shiner out of the fridge.  It is all starting to come back in focus now.  I just have to remember to breathe.

 :-)

I wonder if GWB/bobby jindal are going to get credit for having their acts totally together on this one.

the democrats are still bringing up katrina, of course.  bildo clinton brought it up in his convention speech
last week.  maybe this will at least shut them up.

A hardened few choose to stay and ride out Gustav (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/G/GUSTAV_LEFT_BEHIND?SITE=AP)

Orleans Parish was also ordered evacuated, and most seemed unwilling to face a repeat of 2005, when thousands languished - and some died - in the filth and swelter of the Superdome and convention center. Bourbon Street was littered with the detritus of a last-minute party - plastic cups, Mardi Gras beads and packaged condoms - and the revelers were largely gone.

But the French Quarter was far from empty.

Hattie Callan, 36, weaved her way down the street Sunday, a vodka drink already in her hand and it only 9:20 in the morning. She was staying behind to watch over several houses, and she wasn't worried.

"I've got liquor, cash, food, ammo and weed," she said as she floated out of sight.

Guess who came out of the woodworks again? Fred Phelps said, "Thank God for Gustav".

Quote
3 years ago, New Orleans got an awesome and well-deserved God-Smack called Hurricane Katrina. Rather than repent and get right with God, that filthy city said, "We will return and rebuild the desolate places," just like old Edom. It hasn't yet sunk in to the think skulls of the NOLA rebels, who are just finishing their latest parade of fag filth known as Southern Decadence: you are the people against whom the Lord hath indignation forever. NOLA is doomed. America is doomed. The world is doomed. Amen!

WTF?????????????????????????? I have news for WBC, you are doomed and cursed by God.

Just to let y'all know, we are experiencing the beginnings of Gustav here in Denison, Tx. Winds are out of the NE and some occasional light rain. Since we're right on the outskirts of it, I can't say how bad it will get. I'm thinking a nice summer rain with some wind behind it.
