Why don't we just ignore the Supreme Court?
Maureen Dowd's op ed in the NY Times closes with the above question. After all, we have a Court that appointed George W. president in 2000; gutted the Voting Rights Act, and is licking it's chops over the upcoming Roe V Wade case. The wingnuts that dominate the Court, (and have for decades), don't give a rat's ass about the law, the Constitution, or the well being of the vast majority of the American people
The answer to her question is that we (Democrats) obey Supreme Court decisions out of tradition. But what if they make a decision that Republicans hate. Would they obey it? After all, the SCOTUS has no enforcement powers.

spent four years ignoring many of the laws of the land. And what's been done about it? To date, not much.

Dummies are absolutely free to ignore the Supreme Court in the sanctity of the various trailers and hovels where they tend to dwell. Normal people, who live in the normal world, would find themselves in assorted legal jams at the best and on the wrong side of a shotgun at the worst.

This after all was the guy who during the 1980s and 1990s was generally thought to be the next whiz kid, the next magician, on Wall Street, where he worked as a runner on the floor.
But then one day while on the Staten Island ferry riding home, he had a cerebral aneurysm or something, and walked away from that lucrative job, along with the fast cars, the overbosomed chicks, the drugs.
He's since been employed as a wheelchair-pusher in a nursing home down in Florida.
