Not at work--very bizarre feeling, actually. Fantasy football draft starts in 25 minutes, and nothing planned after that.
A beautiful day, actually--got the windows open early, it's already 68 on it's way to 81 this afternoon, and I still have a steak to grill and leftover potato salad and watermelon--and corn, should I decide to do extra carbs.
Meh, screw it--barley pops will be my carbs today.

Got Radio Margaritaville on already, ejoying my coffee.
Later, my almost famous London Broil on the grill, Baked Potatoes, tomato salad and baby peas.
Wife and girls are heading out shopping later. The oldest needs a new school bag and lunch box for Wednesday. I'll have a cigar in the peace and quiet. :-)

This weekend is the beginning of football season. My Alma Mater, the Trinity Trojans of Euless, TX (defending 5A State Champions) will be playing John Curtis High School from Louisiana (also defending State Champions) at Texas Stadium. The entire Tantal clan is going, including my parents. For those not from here, High School Football is almost like a secondary religion around these parts. It should be a shootout. And now, your moment of HAKA!!!!

Painitng....still have a few hours left it looks like. We've done the stairwell, the living room, the dining room and still need to finish the kitchen. We went with a much lighter color than was on the wall so it's taking a bit longer, but looks SO much nicer! I've hated the color since we moved in!!
The boys want to go fishing later today, so that might happen later this afternoon/evening.

It cooled down last night and I turned off the a/c and slept with the windows open. It's still pretty nice outside.

I'm about to get dressed and head over to my brother's house. There's family in town, evacuated ahead of Gustav.

Recovering from weekend in Cuyahoga Falls and family wedding.
Supposed to be sunny and hot .....may have a swim, read a new book....and a nap is most definitely in my future! :-)

At home with my puking 5-year-old. We were supposed to go to a joint family birthday party for her and her brother at the lake. Ah, well. At least she wasn't sick for her real birthday with her friends.

Working actually.. until 4. Then the wife, kid, and I are going to go to the park and relax a bit and then come home and get some much needed housework done.

Heading down to Chase Field in a few hours with sister, both nephews, and mom to watch D-backs play the Cardinals.
With the weather so mild yesterday, I went for a 45-minute hike at my favorite park. It felt so good to really push my muscles and sweat it out for a while. I saw some lizards, squirrels, and beetles (yuck). While warm, it wasn't the blast furnace it has been the past two months. I think autumn is approaching! :hyper:

Just ran to WalMart to finish off a $50 gift card my mom gave me. Had to get supplies for my printer, because I have a TON of printing to do for my Intro to Research in Healthcare course (all sorts of lovely PDF and PPT files :o ).
I don't have work or classes today, so I'm doing laundry and finishing up some statistics homework.
I'll probably order take-out this evening, but have no clue what. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to share them. :cheersmate:

Hey ACC....pay attention to the weather....the weather woman on Fox said about a half hour ago that Hanna is expected to land up towards northern FL and Savannah.

Hmmmm...might have to do that--if anyplace is open right now. Most Mondays, bars in Rochester don't open up until 3-4 PM. Working for a living and all that, dontcha know.

Yep, I know, Deb. My employer has been instructing all of us employees to just leave town if it gets bad enough as they will probably shut the store down. I'm doing ALL my laundry today, and am packing up my suitcase with clothes. I probably WILL leave town, if Hanna stays on track. Car is already partly packed up, but I need to gas it up and put all my valuables in there right before I leave.
I've dealt with ice storms and tornados, but this could be my first hurricane. :o

We have a little neighborhood shopping center a half mile up the street from the entrance to our subdivision. This was a little storefront bar that became a sport's bar, had a deli (nothing compared to what you are used to in Rochester :( ) that the old man who owned it decided to retire so the bar took it over, and renovated it. You can even get breakfast there. Lot of lawn crews and construction people work there as there is still new construction going on in the area. They do a huge business. When the state law went into effect last year of no smoking in a restaurant that allowed people under 21 in....they went to no one under 21 in the place and kept smoking. Place is jammed on weekends.
ACC...go get gas today!!! If they start evacuating everyone and their brother will be getting gas and they might not bring more in if it's mandatory evacuation.

Savannah has gotten lucky so many times before when it comes to hurricanes. One of these days, our luck is going to run out, and I fear that Friday will be that day. :(
As soon as laundry dries, I'm running straight for the nearest gas station to fuel up (with a gas can for extra fuel). I'm outta here Thursday night, I think.

Okay, I went ahead and got gas for the car. Good thing I did, as there are already 10-15 minute waits to fuel up. :o

Good girl! Make sure if you do any running around this week, you make sure you keep it full, ok? You just got your tires checked when you had that flat tire, right? Might want to check the AC and water levels are right too.
If they start evacs, I would think you will be leaving before Thursday night....they usually start tourists at 72 hours and residents 48 ahead (my experience is only in Key West).
Get some water, pop and snacks for the car too, in case you get in traffic jams leaving, and end up in the car for a long time.

Yep, I've been keeping constant watch on my tires, and not just because of the flat. I also had a run-in (the next day) with a glass bottle of some kind in the parking lot at work. All tires are fine, thank God, but the sound of that glass breaking scared the CRAP out of me.
They checked everything else when I had the tire taken care of...A/C, water, oil, etc. Everything is good until the next oil change (2000 more miles).
I have plenty of snacks here, but no drinks. Will get some while I'm at work tomorrow (pays to work at a grocery store sometimes. LOL ).
As the storm is moving slowly, Savannah officials haven't said much about evacuations yet.

Savannah is largely lucky because of its geography. The last time a major hurricane hit that area was like in the early 20th century.

Been piddling around all day, running a few shopping errands. We got paint yesterday but then someone got involved in a photo project and a nap. No matter, the baby starts preschool tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to paint tomorrow.
Did my first spinning class today. OMG, I have now been challenged and I need a gel seat...my butt hurt!
That's all...kinda quiet around here. Cooking steak and baked potatoes now. Salad and black beans going on the side.

I worked today. Hospitals are 24x7, ya know. :whatever: The really cool thing is that Mr Smith didn't work today, so he made supper. :-)
