Title: are they trying to ferret out things they think we say?
Post by: franksolich on October 01, 2021, 06:53:42 PM
On another message board I inhabit, which necessarily must remain anonymous, I've noticed a mole with a Republican-sounding bumper-sticker screen name whose posts imitate what Democrats and other malcontents construe to be Republican talking-points on just about any issue.

Being a life-long Republican, I know what a true Republican smells like, and what a fake one reeks of.

Given the Biden administration's blatant aspiration to stay in power forever and ever by ferreting out and persecuting its opponents, one wonders if such moles might not be surreptitious agitators, agents provocateurs, set on trying to provoke comments that might be treasonous, and hence persecutable.

I've been a member of Republican and conservative and other reich-wing message boards for more than twenty years, and have never seen any rhetoric rise to the same level of sedition as one might find daily on democraticunderground.com the same two decades.

But there's two sets of rules currently in force in this country, one for Democrats and the other for Republicans.....

So it's good for people here to be constantly aware of this, as even an innocuous comment could land one of us into jail.

I've often wondered what motivates an agent provocateur.

The same thing that prompts people to watch Dr. Phil, MSNBCNN, and daytime soaps - drama and other people's pain.

I like to cook and will spend days working on a meal because I like seeing people enjoy themselves.

Does that make me a radical by today's standards? Am I a threat to this society? 🤔

Ohh ...let me count the ways [/leftist]

"In the land where socialist idiocy brings famine, responsibility for all of society's ills will be laid on the shoulders of those who irresponsibly enjoyed cooking" -- V.I.Lenin (probably)

We need to be gentle as doves and wise as serpents. We are currently in a time where people will try to get us to say things just so they can turn us in to this agency or that. Today its a few Lefties, tomorrow it will be actual agents.

Could be trying to elicit something illegal. Could also just be a troll. They definitely do operate on stereotypes, and aren't particularly good at it.

I like to cook too (though not all the time and certainly not for days at a time - I used to be an Army cook back in the day and some things rubbed off), and certainly watching people enjoy what I prepare is good.

That's a long, long way from Dr. Phil and other people's pain. To say nothing of daytime soaps.
