Serious question - how many persons are shot and killed daily
in the United States without a single word of condemnation from ReTHUG politicians?
See I saw a ReTHUG complaining about beheadings in Afghanistan because the US dared to leave.

1. Gun Violence in America
Every day, more than 100 Americans are killed with guns and more than 230 are shot and wounded. The effects of gun violence in America extend far beyond these casualties—gun violence shapes the lives of millions of Americans who witness it, know someone who was shot, or live in fear of the next shooting.
In order to illustrate the magnitude of everyday gun violence Everytown has gathered the most comprehensive, publicly available data. Still, significant data gaps remain—a result of underfunded, incomplete data collection at the state and federal levels. Filling these gaps is necessary to truly understand the full impact of gun violence in America.
https://everytownresearch.org/report/gun-violence-in-america/
From the article -- More than one-third of gun deaths are homicides. The rate of gun violence in America is staggering: The US gun homicide rate is 25 times that of other high-income countries.

according to the Washington Post, 19,380 people were shot and killed in 2020...
The vast majority of these tragedies happen far from the glare of the national spotlight, unfolding instead in homes or on city streets and — like the covid-19 crisis — disproportionately affecting communities of color.

2. In other words
Deal with a major public health crisis at home or STFU.
Thanks for the link
23.6% of all those killed by firearms in 2020 were black.
:whatever:
-
If you could get Democrats to stop murdering other Democrats with firearms the problem would virtually disappear.

That seems low.

Funny how the DUmbwits always seem to forget that the rate of death in America from MEDICAL MALPRACTICE always runs at least 10x as high as gun fatalities...
::cough:: 'Rona fascism ::cough::

Um, I think conservatives/republicans have made it fairly clear where we stand on gun violence. We are not ignoring it, we just have different proposed remedies, and you don't like those remedies. So nice try, but we're not shutting up about the Afghanistan debacle.

And there's over 600,000 abortions every year.

And if they were better shots the problem would solve itself faster! :thatsright: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Predominately blue enclaves. They voted themselves into that ness. I'll care once they begin voting differently.
-
FBI stats: the last line is 2020 murders. It shoots off the chart.
It is NOT the evil gun lobby that did this.
DEFUND THE POLICE did this. Democrat policy made this happen.
and the DUmmies are too blind to see the mirror in front of them.

I think it has something to do with how they hold the gun...

They do that for a reason. They are such piss poor shots that when they do their drive by shootings, the recoil from the gun moves their hand sideways instead of up. They are more likely to hit someone else in the group instead of shooting into the air.

And his hats on backwards!! :thatsright: :loser:

hey Christine:
In 2018, the homicide rate in Jamaica was 47/100,000 residents, and 2019 saw an increase of 3.4%. This is three times higher than the average for Latin America and the Caribbean.

What I'm reading is that guns are racist too - that's another reason why we should ban them...
(Do I really need to add /sarcasm?)

Four means to improve:
1. Bail proportionate to their crime and past criminal record;
2. Stop plea-bargaining away felonies for violent crimes;
3. Stop early releases of criminals for Covid or other pretexts (Covid is the current "reason", but other "reasons" will come along at "need");
4. Tighten up use of the death penalty - evidence required for conviction and the capital sentence, limit time for appeals and require all bases for appeal to be litigated together, schedule executions to happen within 1 year of the last appeal.
Get the thugs off the streets and murders will decrease.
A 5th means of improvement would be for police and prosecutors to "sweat the small stuff". When the risk and cost in the "small stuff" is significant, less "small" and "big" stuff will happen.

Allow me to present the devil's case: why do anything? Almost all of the issue is limited to Dem-run utopias. I don't care how many gangsters kill other gangsters.

Because the Democrats are pushing to expand government housing into the red areas surrounding the blue hell holes.

The evidence is clear; failure to police results in crime rates spiking. The people most negatively affected are poor/minority neighborhoods.
