Click the "Hans Christian Heg" tag to scroll through many posts about this statue, which was torn down by protesters last summer and put back up this week. Keep going all the way back to 2011 and you'll find 3 different posts — March 2nd, March 11th, and March 21st— with my video showing Meade addressing vandalism to the statue during the "Wisconsin Uprising" (when taking over a Capitol building was celebrated by people of the left).

I note from Heg's Wikipedia page that the State of Wisconsin
"received a grant of $30,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities the following October [2020] towards the expense of repairing of both the Heg and Forward statues. The statues were taken to Detroit where Venus Bronze Works Inc. worked to restore them, with reinstallation on the Capitol grounds then anticipated by July 2021.[28][29] By mid September 2021, Heg's statue was "nearly ready to be shipped to Wisconsin."[30]
On September 21, 2021 the Statue was reinstated.
Very encouraging to take steps to reinstate the statue of a confirmed abolitionist and soldier who died of wounds received at Chickamauga -- on the Union side. Since BLM has proved over and over again that their position isn't one of "Black Lives Matter" and more of Marxism, the irony can't be ignored here. Rip down the statue of someone who defended black lives, in a manner of speaking.
There were some questions on the Althouse blog about who paid for the restoration - the taxpayers or someone else.
Question is, what's going to happen to the rioters (nothing) and what is law enforcement going to do the next time BLM decides to show their asses?
