I am sick of people who pick up their cell phone, full of silicon chip technology,
semiconductors, Ethernet connections, Bluetooth capabilities, and Wi-Fi enabled to upload or download data through broadband fiber optic networks and send it to satellites in geosynchronous orbit above the earth that have been placed there by giant rockets, actual ****ing rockets, so they can connect to a social media website that is powered by acres of computer servers processing terra gigs of data every second just so they can tweet about how they “don’t believe in science.”
Had to get that off my chest.

I hang with republicans, and no one has ever casually mentioned, “I don’t believe in science.”

Yeah, the 'disbelief in science' thing is a canard. I'm guessing this poster sees people on Twitter expressing apprehension about vaccines, or distrust of public health officials, and interprets these things as "not believing in science".

Almost all of those things we have is because of capitalism. I'm tired of people using the products of capitalism to preach communism.

Whatever Sorcerer Supreme Fauci proclaims on any given day is the settled science that must be accepted by all until the next proclamation comes along.

Science isn’t the issue, nor has it ever been. The problem is scientists who allow their conclusions to be guided by their political ideology rather than objectivity. And they do a horrible job of hiding their deliberate misdirections which only causes people to distrust them. Scientists do it to themselves.

Comes from a complete lack of critical thinking, which we can largely blame our schools for. Mentally everything is so compartmentalized these young un's don't see the connection between innovation and capitalism. They don't see that the other prime motivation for large scale innovation is military strength or enforcing totalitarian power, i.e. the Soviet Union and communist China.

the science of technology in silicon chips is at it's basic level a bit and is purely binary and at that basic level the bit only knows 2 states: on or off. There is no room for the bit to identify itself as non-binary or binary fluid.
If the program that controls the bit gives it a condition that renders it as on, it can not suddenly identify itself as being off because it feels better about itself if it is off.
If for the expediency of a political point of view the bit can not follow the rantings of a politician one day that says it's state is on and then next day change it's state to off to meet the bizarre proclamations another political talking point.
So Mr Wizard, keep that in mind next time you try to get DUmp cred by comparing people who embrace technology and who, according to you, don't follow science.
