SD - 230%+ increase in cases in the wake of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Hmmm...seems to me I saw something similar recently... (https://www.democraticunderground.com/100215769435)

Oh yes:

Obama decided to spread some Covid, himself. Guess they're 'sophisticated' and can handle it, though. (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/critics-slam-obama-birthday-virus-cases-marthas-vineyard)

It’s interesting they’ve stopped talking about deaths. They just want to mention cases. About the only time they talk about deaths is when they can use a percentage that seems scary. “OMG, deaths are up 200% from last week!!!”  So you look it up and find out there was one death last week.

Celebrities and politicians are so toxic even an engineered virus won't touch them.

It takes a DUmmie to rejoice at people getting sick. And Queen of Meme kpete is almost as DUMB as DUmmies get (Boog's pet human is definitely dumber).

Anyway, in the real world, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/south-dakota/ , South Dakota had a two day jump from 139 new cases on August 13th to 395 and 376 new cases on August 17th and 18th. And then dropped to two days with 295 and 304 cases. By way of contrast, the winter surge worst day was November 27th, with 2,138 new cases, while the averaged curve would peak at around 1,500 new cases. Context Matters, Part 1.

Context Matters, Part 2 ... During the winter surge, the worst day had 54 deaths, with the averaged curve peaking around 40 deaths. The worst day in August, so far, had 2 deaths.

Sturgis 2021 was not the super-spreader event DUmmies hoped for.

5. Gov. Snow Queen:

"South Dakota's cases remain low. If you're worried about the virus, you're free to get vaccinated, wear a mask, or stay at home. But we won't be mandating anything.”

This pandemic has revealed a whole new level of stupid.

Yes it has, from the left and their zombies.

27. What were the dates of the rally?

I'm just wondering about what contributions it might havr made to infection spikes in my area.

34. August 6 thru August 15

Why would you reply with last year's dates in a discussion about this year's event?  Cause you have the attention span of a fruit fly.

Like my signature quote says, Facts don't matter to DUmmies, as Star Moron madaboutharry denigration of Gov. Noem's TRUE statement demonstrated.

Nancy Pelosi, Jennifer Granholm, and other elites at a massive get-together dining without masks while the staff is forced to wear masks:

according to the google Machine,
SD went from zero cases all the way to 331.

That's just ...wow... so many.

There were 700k there, right? That has to be a massive percentage.

Per the Worldometers page I linked above, SD had 785 new cases yesterday ... after 3 days in the 110-111 new cases range. Meanwhile, SD hasn't had a Covid death since August 19th. And since many/most US states are experiencing declines in new cases and deaths, Sturgis didn't export Covid either. :rotf:

 So, for two years in a row, DUmmies howled predictions that Sturgis would cause huge super-spreads, and reality perversely and obstinately refused to comply with DUmmie predictions, :rotf: . DUmmies need to learn not to make predictions that can be fact-checked, :rotf: .  :fuelfire:

The excuse is people came in, caught the kung flu, spread it among the crowds, then went back to their home states.  The super spread doesn't have to be at the event site.  Of course, that's hard to prove, which does double duty for the moonbats.  They can't be proven wrong or right, and gives them a segue to change the subject and call for more tracking of people, under the guise of disease control and "public safety".

No, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Wasn't a Superspreader Event. So When Does Gov. Noem Get Her Apology From the Media?

Before its Aug. 6 opening, the Washington Post ominously warned: “Sturgis Motorcycle Rally revs up, drawing thousands and heightening delta super spreader fears”; CBS blared:“Sturgis motorcycle rally sparks fears of super spreader event.”

But like last August, the derisive press thankfully didn’t get their wish. Two weeks after the gathering with more than a half-million attendees concluded, fewer than 200 cases have been attributed to the event.

The Associated Press still breathlessly reported Sunday that “nearly 4,000 people have been newly diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state,” but later noted that “a South Dakota Department of Health spokesman declined to link the Sturgis rally to the rising virus surge, noting only 39 COVID-19 cases directly attributed to the rally.”
