This is what the election stealing commies have brought us to in a mere 7 months.

If that's designed to piss us off, they've succeeded.
There is no way on this earth that Asterisk should spend another minute in office.
Bagram Air Base should've been retaken a week ago and things should've escalated from there. Instead, GropeyJoe hides out in his basement.

Bagram Air Base should've been retaken a week ago....
5000 terrorists warehoused at Bagram have been set free.

Let me rephrase -- Bagram Air Base should not have been abandoned until military tribunals of those 5,000 were held, those guilty of war crimes executed, and equipment/weapons either destroyed or returned to the U.S.
But since Asterisk and his Merry Band of Idiots did things completely backasswards, it's time to clean up the mess.

We should have executed the detainees for the unlawful combatants they were.

You know as well as I do that such actions would have been political suicide for any administration.
Of course, now we have this entire mess.
The term "kangaroo court" comes to mind. But at least some sort of judicial process could have been held, and then the detainees executed. No idea how long those fighters have been detained, but in my mind there should've been an ongoing judicial process, or even a revolving door. Detained one day, court held the next day, execution the day after that, mass graves. Easy peasy.

regarding the military equipment we left behind, I heard one report that said outside of the U.S., the taliban now are possessors of the largest fleet of Apache attack helicopters. Not sure if that is entirely accurate, but there is no doubt that bidunce left alot of equipment that can come back and hurt us in the future, both by using it directly against our Troops or sharing it with Russia or china so they can get our technological secrets.
I'm curious about the current state of the air defense system in Afghanistan at the present time. What I'm getting at is launching several air strikes (preferably with drones or cruise missiles) on the equipment that was left behind to render it inoperative. This would be a strike only on the concentrations of our military technology and not intended to harm civilians.
I would say give the taliban a 24 hour notice prior to the strike to endure civilian causalities are nil, but I wouldn't trust those bastards and can see them moving hostages to the area where the equipment is kept to act as human shields.
Given the current shaky status on the world stage, I wouldn't trust giving our allies a heads up on the operation for fear they somehow tip off the media of the attack in advance.
make sense or is this idea too far out in left field?

Yes, well, these are the sorts of steps a competent authority would have executed BEFORE the withdrawal.

COMPETENT being the operative word here. Dog knows it feels like it's been forever since we've seen anything which would fit that discription...

Using our soldiers uniforms to do this really, really (in the words of EUPHER) ...

One thing about the equipment left behind like the Apaches, I've seen several readings and videos about how hard it was training the official Afghan army folks to use that equipment. While Taliban fighters are more motivated, it seems likely they would crash most of those choppers and tanks before actually figuring out how to work them.
Unless they get some training assistance from a couple of bears to the north and east..... one ursa major and one pooh bear.

That's my biggest concern. While I don't want our ordnance to be made into IEDs and used against us or civilians I really don't want to see our technology to fall into the hands of Russia, china, iran or any other muslim shithole country.

Add in that any major disturbance in the Middle East has possible Biblical undertones, and some endtimes verses referring to an army from the east, and China has already reached out to the Taliban. We may get to see the sky split yet.
