when you can't present the voters with a qualified candidate or ballot initiative that the people want, then you have to resort to trying to ridicule those who don't vote your way (i.e. basket of deplorables...).

when that doesn't look like it's going to work, you fall back on your standard go-to and cheat by stuffing the ballot boxes with mail-in only voting, no signature verification, ballot harvesting and late night ballot count misconduct.
