I don't know how the ad revenue on these sites are generated. I would think it would be based on clicks to the advertiser.
For about the last month I've noticed that sometimes you can click on a thread link, or a response link, and it will take you to a website that is advertising on DU. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I didn't click for the advertiser.
Would this be considered fraud?

Fraud? Not my area of expertise, but it probably isn't likely via a legal basis.
During the Doug Bulna debacle of hiding the remote in the rafters and once you intrepid souls found out the car dealership where he worked, my banner ads on every website were for that Chevy place that he pulled off that silly trick and got handed his walking papers.
