If I went to DC could I actually see Obama's inaugaration
 or would I be city-blocks away enjoying the celebration on the street or watching a screen in a bar? I might make the trip if I can actually watch the event in person.

No more than likely you'd find yourself in a leather bar in Du Pont Circle wondering how another one slipped away...and as you staggered out of said bar you'd glance up at the spacious offices of DU and feel even worse as you realize that sending your money to $kimmer has done only one thing...

Why? She was against it.....AS people in Ketchikan were. From what I heard, "Why would I want to drive 20-30 minutes out of my way when the ferry only takes about 2?
