I don't have a probelm with Palin having 5 kids and running for any office she wants. But...
I have a huge problem with here running for higher office with a Kid with Down's syndrome.

That baby is 6 months old and needs parents close by as much as possible.

I would apply the same rule to either parent for the first three years of life. If I had a special needs kids... I would reprioritize my life to accomodate that child. and the needs of my spouse. I would find a job where I could work from home or have a short commute.

Like Michelle Obama saud Nothing should be more central to your life than raising your kids.

I absolutely applaud Sara Palin's decision to have this child. I cant imagine the heartbreak and the coming challenges the Palins face. But I am astounded that she would devalue the importance of "Being there" for her child for a job that would reuire so much of her attention and so much more should McCain not be able to complete his term.

How can a party who espouse family values even aske her to serve? Haw can a mom do this to her family?

Like DU gives a flying **** about the welfare of a Republican's child. Like they DIDN'T make fun of Santorum's children for crying in front of lights and cameras.

Skinner, are you paying attention to this? Are you HIGH?

Should we remind the inmates over at Delusional Underground of Chelsea Clinton? Everyone was told she was off limits and this is different how?

And if Sarah Palin was Steve Palin and his wife was at home with 5 kids....the DUmmies would be pissing and moaning that he'd saddled his wife with 5 kids and how her growth as a woman donations to society as a whole was being stunted by her rethuglican fudndie hubby.

Chelsea is a Democrat.

Which excuses her work at a hedge fund, as well as the way she got the job, and into college, for that matter.

It doesn't take much of a stretch of the imagination to picture the liberals showering a democrat in the same position with thanks and praise, for making the "hard sacrifice for America."  A special needs child would be a small price to pay for socialized medicine.

I was going to type somethings similar, but yeah, that's it.  If it were a Dem female they liked, then this isn't even an issue.  But they're hypocrites, we all know that when we choose to glace into their cesspool.

Also I really doubt that either the state of Alaska or the Federal Government isn't going to provide her with all she would need to take care of any member of her family and then there is their private insurance. I think that after 5 kids she has the mom thing down pretty well by now.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Prez work from home? Isn't the VP's residence a short commute from HER office?

Oh, and anyone remember the famous photo of JFK, Jr. hiding under the presidential desk while his father is working? I can picture little Trig in the Oval Office in a couple of years.

I was gonna say..... this nullifies their argument that pro-lifers want every baby to be born but aren't willing to provide the care to support them.  :mental:

Apparently the same rule didn't apply to John Edwards and his cancer-stricken wife. He was free to roam the countyside putting his weiner into other women, but, hey, he's a Democrat so it's all okay.

according to the media, the dad is a stay at home dad with the younger kids already. Sarah Palin is *already* the governor of her state - so this is a moot issue.

but i'm getting an awfully big charge out of watching the Dems howl over this one..

So, she works as VP and Mr. Palin watches the kids.

Um, now the DUmmies are opposed to this?

Talk about some MAJOR hypocrisy.  :whatever:

Chelsea injected herself into the political discussion by CAMPAIGNING for mrs. clinton.

These kids are just the children of the candidate and ARE off-limits.
