Fireworks!!
Indeed, loved the symbolism there, The fireworks to me, that represent blowing away the old foundation of corruption, storming the bastille, and implode the old oligarchical ways of doing things, and to burn away the old republican way of hoarding all of the good things about this country for themselves.
I think it's uncanny that fireworks were used by Barack's campaign..The symbolism is very positive IMO.
Why in the past campaigns did they use balloons for?Balloons are filled with air, full of nothing substantial Surely they knew the symbolism of that empty promise that a balloon represents.Maybe it was because they knew they were not going to change things really that they were just filling us up with hot air..to get a vote, instead of changing things for the better for most of us not just the rich, but for the poor and middle class.
The thing that upsets me time and time again and every politician does this,is the lack of voice for people in poverty.
Every politician who says a speech forgets to say the word poverty to say what is to those of us in poverty, it's like we don't exist.Politicians can't bring themselves to say 'working poor' as if poor was America's dirty little secret. Because the working poor are the class of people Barack described when he said his examples like, the waitress living on tips..And sad truth is most of us ARE poor and working poor.Due to Bush and his sickeningly selfish cultural stronghold of greed and corruption built over generations of stealth republican policy. So Change must come TO Washington.I agree it can't come from someone getting their palms greased by big money for years and years until issues the poor struggle with are nothing but a faint whiff of a bad dream.Time to expose some dark minds and evil hearts and the wicked republican policies to the light of day.Where the republicans will shrivel up like an old slimy slug drying out on the sidewalk caught in the glare of the sun rising.
But than again I must admit it,I love fireworks..So I might be a wee bit biased for having fireworks over balloons..Heh..
The subway cat hasn't given her observation of the fireworks over Skins's island today, which exceed the fireworks over Barry "Six States" Obama last night.

2. hell yeah!!!
You'd be a fool not to, and it's effect was just beautiful.
Barack looked great too.
I'll bet Barry "Six States" Obama didn't look so great this morning, though.

4. glad they didn't do it.
besides the symbolism, because the balloons would have been a helluva mess to clean up for a stadium that big ,fireworks are better by far IMO,and it is ONE change, already done..

I thought the DNC was ripping off the Chinese, who put on a much better show a couple of weeks ago.
