The GOP seem to have given up on Democracy - the sacred principle of 1 person 1 vote

they now completely seem to have given up on American Democracy and have resorted to corrupting the Democratic system by vote rigging, lying, using propaganda like Fox News, being traitors and getting help from foreign adversaries. History has shown that other Democratic countries have failed and given way to authoritarian regimes. I believe the repugs want to take us down that direction.

1. Yes they've tipped their hand and shown us all their cards

Now we Democrats and progressives know that we can never allow them lead this country again.

6. Even more to the point, they're actively working to take permanent control.

What would happen then, though? They're scarcely in control of themselves and what's happening as their mobs grow crazier and crazier.

Trump would have instituted a strongman dictatorship, supported by the mobs and, more dependably, by RW power blocs, such as wealthy kleptocrats/oligarchs.

Another form that's proven more resilient in former liberal democracies, though, is what's being called a competitive authoritarian regime:

"a type of civilian regime that arose in the post-Cold War era. In a competitive authoritarian regime, "formal democratic institutions exist and are widely viewed as the primary means of gaining power, but ... incumbents' abuse of the state places them at a significant advantage vis-à-vis their opponents."

Of course if the Republicans and their power blocs went this way, they would transform us from our liberal democracy to an IL-liberal democracy. They began their takeover long before Trump and began corrupting our institutions, expanding the powers of the presidency, and packing the courts with their agents in the 1980s-1990s, accelerating greatly in this century.

"An IL-liberal democracy, or procedural democracy, is distinguished from liberal democracy, or substantive democracy, in that illiberal democracies lack features such as the rule of law, protections for minority groups, an independent judiciary and the real separation of power."

There are a lot of other forms and subforms of autocratic government, including extremes like fascism or totalitarianism based on ideology (usually left wing univeralist).

8. It's turned against them at the ballot box, but more importantly...

there's limited money in it. Fascism is far more lucrative, if you're the tribe on top.

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism in which the ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities by denying their existence in themselves and attributing them to others.   :whistling:

My God.  It's like some alternate universe they live in where they see everything in reverse.  Everything they are doing they project on the right. Democrat leaders have as much as stated that this is a once in a lifetime power grab, yet none of them see that.  A psychiatrist could write a thesis on the mind control happening in that little hive.

James Madison on democracy (Federalist Papers 55)

In all very numerous assemblies, of whatever characters composed, passion never fails to wrest the sceptre from reason. Had every Athenian citizen been a Socrates; every Athenian assembly would still have been a mob.

Good luck finding a single Socrates over in the DUmp.  Or in the DNC.  Or on a democrat voter roll.  Wait, he's dead, you may find him there....

We have “1 person, 1 vote” now (except when libs vote multiple times or stuff the ballot boxes). What is all this junk about 1 person 1 vote?

Is this where they do the old “voters in Wyoming have more weight in their one vote than voters in California” nonsense? When they say that, it alone tells me they haven’t a clue as to how a representative republic works.

Protect the sacred right to vote: Institute voter ID laws.
