Just had an interesting conversation with a rethug
Advertisements [?]I had to run down to a local hardware store to pick up some stuff. While I'm in the cashier's line, I overheard some woman talking on her cel phone, going on and on about how great Palin was - she's pro-life, pro-gun, yadda yadda yadda.

I couldn't help myself. After she had hung up her phone, I politely asked her if she felt that experience was important. When she replied "of course", I pointed out that Palin has even less experience than Obama. She just stood there for a second, then replied "well it's only for the VP job, I don't think it's really all that important."

That's just how stupid these people are.

How did this woman get to be the lucky one?  And why can't kooks like Paint It Black ever run into me at the store?

.

Yes, a woman who managed to get herself elected governor of a whole state cannot possibly hold a candle to a "community organizer" who sleazed his way into the Illinois statehouse and then sleazed his way into the US senate.

Because they would actually have to go out of the house for that to happen.

Once again, a made-up story to soothe their fears of a VP candidate they can't criticize.

They can barely touch her on abortion rights: how bad will they look when they pound on a woman with five kids, one of which has Down's, for her views on reproductive choice? Palin walks the walk.

I managed to find a still from the security video showing this encounter. I believe this is the first time a bouncy encounter has been caught on CCTV.

What cracks me up is that they are all outraged that she has no experience, based on the fact that she's only been in office for two years..........

compared to.....

Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, someone they'd have LOVED on Obama's ticket.

I'm going to pee myself laughing when they find out that she was Mayor (1996-2002) before she was Governor.  And that she headed up the Alaska Ethics Commission after that.

She's gonna chew up Biden's pathetic ass and spit him out.

She LOOKS mean, period.  Every time I see her on TV, I want to duck under a table.  It's as if she's looking right at me, and she's about to throw something.  Maybe a shoe.

I've found proof that "teh stupid" is not confined to skins island. The Cubs message board at the bottom was  flooded by loons today. I stay away from comment on the political threads on that board, because the mods are liberal and do not hesitate to ban people.  Anyway the following was taken from that Sports board.

Quote

She's been a Governor for 2 years.

Before that, she was the mayor of the bustling metropolis of 4500 people.

She's a joke, if she didn't have a v*gina, McCain never would have picked her.

My Reply: from that board and as yet unanswered.

">>She's a joke, if she didn't have a v*gina, McCain never would have picked her.<<

That's typical of you from what I've read on this board. The Dem party would never have selected Obama over Hillary if his skin wasn't black. He has less experience than Hillary and far less than McCain, and even less than Palin. Affirmative action and pandering to the minority vote at it's finest has been refined and perfected by the Dems. Forgot to link to the off topic section of the board there.

Repub Co-workers opinions on Palin pick.
Advertisements [?]I had a few people comment (or not comment) on McCain's pick yesterday.

The first is a young woman, mid-twenties, originally from Texas with a husband in the military. She actually had to come to my office to vent at how upset and offended she was by McCain's pick. Now she says she might have to vote for Obama.

Next is my boss, a typical Republican who votes that way simply based on taxes. Just the other day, he was talking up Romney, telling people that Obama would raise taxes which would be bad for the stock market, yada yada yada. Yesterday, I brought up the Palin pick to him...he couldn't even look me in the eyes to argue for it. He just gave up.

The unformed opinions of others in the office are semi-positive until I mention that she has been the Governor for 1 1/2 years, and prior to that was the major of a town of 6000. That shakes them up.

Of course, there's our non-serious voter who likes a nice looking female who is into guns and has nice boobs. I hope he was saying that to get my goat.

I've been reading some UK sites, (OK with a generally centre to rightward view, though not exclusively) and general conservative/centrist/neutral view is pretty positive about the pick.  Lefties are the same all over the world, although even those who don't like Palin and expect Obama to win have had their interest piqued.  I just can't believe that dkf is telling the truth.  Shocking I know.  :-)

Yeah....well, I hit some sites with some Aussies and Auclanders?(New Zealand & I like'em). They seem to be pleased also and the few liberals among them are, as you say, the same the world over.

i figured out what it is; her eyebrows are severely arched. she looks permanently pissed off with those eyebrows. typically, evil characters are drawn with over arched eyebrows for some reason..

she's is a gorgeous woman when she smiles though.. i will give her that.
