I still think his campaign theme should be
Change You Are Deceived In
:-)
-
His campaign song (which would describe his followers) should be "Blinded by the Light."

Michael McDonald? I do hope he sings this:

picking up a major speech and moving it in just a matter of a few weeks is a gamble for a lot
of reasons, not the least of which is logistical. the DNC was being planned within the pepsi
center for months, and people already knew how to televise a speech from a convention hall.
this introduces an incredible number of unknowns. just coordination and communication
could be a big problem. it will be interesting to see how this comes off.

This is what the Messiah wants...and that's how it will be....whether one likes it or not.
(A shiny example of what life would be like under his Presidency) he's a "MAKE IT HAPPEN" kinda guy...without any thought to logistics, money or convenience.
yeah, he'll reach across the aisle.. :whatever:

Now, now...
Grousing about it is unbecoming. Simply say, "Thy will be done", and get on with it.
May the peace, hope and change of teh Obamessiah be upon you my child (God DAMN! try to say that three times with a straight face!) :rotf: :rotf:
-
The BarackStar! is having a BarackConcert!
and you all realize that this all makes him a much more serious candidate for president. :whatever:
-
I hope you got to see the Evil Elf give his act. He was scowling, and jumping up and down, and wiggle-waggling his arms, and flapping his armpits. All I could think was that he MUST have read franksolich's description of agitated DUmmies, because he had it down perfectly.

I saw that and thought the same thing, blooming hilarious. H5!

It was a snoozer. Did you know that we are in the middle of a "planetary emergency"? :whatever:

KNEEL BEFORE OBAMAZOD!
-
nominating biden was a gift to us. the guy is a loose cannon
-
you are here because your future is over with
-
Whenever Biden lifts his arms like that, I expect him to start singing, "Don't Cry for Me."
-
you know, if he delivers a great speech, we could be forked
(the text of the speech is being leaked)
-
you know, if he delivers a great speech, we could be forked
(the text of the speech is being leaked)
Michael Steele of the Strategy Room says there is still a lot of "flowery" language in the speech and it's not real enough.
It should be interesting...

I am here for the play-by-play
-
Me too. I put the Rush sign on my computer monitor. :evillaugh: It says, "I don't know what I'm talking about. I have no experience."
I remember when he told his listeners to put a Liar sign on the screen when Clinton made one of his State of the Union addresses.
It really adds to the speech. :-)
-
are we ready? the speech by the obomigod from the barackoplis is about to begin.
(keith olbermann is coming on himself right now)
-
Let's rock 'n' roll, people!

-
Self-reliance. Doesn't he mean government-reliance?
-
this is ****ed up, the guy did NOT EXIST until 2004.
and yet...he could become president. :)
-

-
this is ****ed up, the guy did NOT EXIST until 2004.
and yet...he could become president. :)
yes, I am trying to come to grips with that probability
-
I was going to self-woot my 1000th post but it seems it looks paltry compared to WE's 8K and Mia's 3K posts. :-)
-
I'm reading the "prepared" speech.
What a pantload.
-
The Messiah has returned!!
-
w00t Jen!
And Obama's on stage...
-
I was going to self-woot my 1000th post but it seems it looks paltry compared to WE's 8K and Mia's 3K posts. :-)
I will w00t you later, baby.
-
Now, many of these plans will cost money, which is why I've laid out how I'll pay for every dime – by closing corporate loopholes and tax havens that don't help America grow. But I will also go through the federal budget, line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work and making the ones we do need work better and cost less – because we cannot meet twenty-first century challenges with a twentieth century bureaucracy.
ORLY? :whatever:
-
w00t Jen!
And Obama's on stage...
wrong tie, for openers
-

his collars don't bag anymore
Commenting on his clothes again...are you sure you're not a woman?
-
is he going to OPEN with foreign policy?
-
He's talking too slow...too many pauses...I'm seriously snoozing.

-
"this moment" again . . .

admit it though, he is killing us right now.
-
No, he is not.
-
this is a magnificently delivered speech.
-
this is a magnificently delivered speech.
Indeed, but he's wearing the wrong tie. :)
-
here comes "he doesn't get it"
-
told you so! :uhsure:
-
Gee, I thought he was all about self-reliance.
-
Gee, I thought he was all about self-reliance.
well, that depends on the paragraph of the speech
-
so, in short the change he's been talking about is
going from
Bush bashing
to
McCain bashing.
:cheersmate:
-
yes, yes.
we know that you are African American
-
yes, yes.
we know that you are African American
it's actually a very good speech
-
HI, GRANNY!
sorry that i tossed you under the bus!
-
You keep saying that, WE. But has he said anything new? Nope. He's already contradicted himself. His video beforehand said he promoted self-reliance. But he just insulted the "ownership" ideal that makes America great.
-
here it comes.
jope and ujnity
-
Here we go...the specifics.
-
when did John McCain define the middle class as a 5 million dollar income
-
Here we go...the specifics.
he should have finished 2 minutes ago

-
he shoud have stopped 10 minutes ago
-
No dependence on Middle East oil huh?
Tough to do when you can't drill in our own country. Jackass.
-
Friggin' illegals are getting an education. What American kids aren't getting that chance?
-
nice but still no specifics on how he's gonna pay for all this stuff.
-
every child, once it's born, right?
you are in favor of infanticide, are you not, mr obama?
-
A nice little Socialist plan he's laying out for us...jerk.
-
THAT is a republican line.
-
Doh! Asking Democrats to take responsibility for anything is bad. :lmao:
-
this is a KILLER speech.
-
Individual responsibility! DUmmies must be shitting themselves right now.
-
then go to the town halls, you big *****!
-
this is a KILLER speech.
If by killer, you mean exposing himself as the Socialist that he is, then yes, yes it is.
-
this is a KILLER speech.

he is delivering a great speech
-
but he is ****ing up . . . . .
-
FDR got us the attack on pearl harbor, dude.
-
Direct diplomacy with Iran. Let's talk it out.
-
ah, partnerships will stop the iranians from being a nuke power?
-
Direct diplomacy with Iran. Let's talk it out.
he nailed the military thing
-
I am de-lurking to say that I am still voting Republican, no matter how awesome his speech is. I am sure most people here won't change their minds. :-)
Anyway, I just tuned into the speech and I am not really impressed with what I've seen so far. :whatever:

-
pedigree? what does he think he is a dog?
-
Oh, I'm glad I responded, then. Whew.
-
"this is out moment"
here it comes
-
I never noticed his lisp before.
-
he got boring 20 minutes ago
-
FWIIW, Comedy Central is running Disgrace Race (not what the listing shows).
Freaking hilarious.
-
he became a socilist in the last 5 minutes of his speech
-
Okay.
No gaffes.
No Freudian slips.
No big errors.
But also no explanation for how he will pay for his little socialist utopia he just rattled off.
-
he became a socilist in the last 5 minutes of his speech
He exposed himself as a Socialist EARLY ON in the speech.
-
I thought is was an awesome speech for at least 90% of it. To bad he is a moonbat.
-
It's in the prepared speech.
Unlike John McCain, I will stop giving tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas, and I will start giving them to companies that create good jobs right here in America.
I will eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and the start-ups that will create the high-wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow.
I will cut taxes – cut taxes – for 95% of all working families. Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.
And for the sake of our economy, our security, and the future of our planet, I will set a clear goal as President: in ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East.
And it's still bullshit.
-
Talking heads in Strategy Room: style was there, substance was not. Two black Americans are saying this.
-
Well I just saw it.....at the end...a spectator climaxed on camera. I swear. :o
Good speech, well delivered, great fireworks. Still a moonbat. :whatever:
-
wow.
i just saw it.
-
THAT was a home run.
you have got to give it up to him . . . that was a great speech.
-
THAT was a home run.
you have got to give it up to him . . . that was a great speech.
So long as you don't mind ignoring facts about where we are relative to 8 years ago, delivering baldfaced lies about cutting taxes and are willing to suspend belief that he'll actually find something or other to cut to get that trillion and a half to pay for all the new stuff, yeah, it was a rousing speech.
That being said, he'll get a bump but it will be short lived.
Honestly I felt like I'd heard that same speech at every Dem Convention for the last 40 years.
-
Didn't watch...Cubs were playing...much more enjoyable.
But, so what if he gave a great speech? We know he's a good speech giver...someone else writes it and tells him what to say. I'm not surprised he did well.
I want to watch him tank ion the debates!
-
Initial reaction: who's paying for all this shit?
-
Individual responsibility! DUmmies must be shitting themselves right now.
no shit
-
Anyone notice just how seldom his eyes were off the telepromptors ?
Just short of never.
Rove had a good point too, McC should ditch the telepromptors and come down and talk directly to people at the GOP convention. It would make an excellent contrast.
-
Initial reaction: who's paying for all this shit?
who always pays for this shit ? the middle class...
tax cuts my ass for the middle class my ass....
