Earlier today, I made some comments about diversity in the African American and Latino communities that I want to clarify. In no way did I mean to suggest the African American community is a monolith—not by identity, not on issues, not at all.

Throughout my career I've witnessed the diversity of thought, background, and sentiment within the African American community. It's this diversity that makes our workplaces, communities, and country a better place.

My commitment to you is this: I will always listen, I will never stop fighting for the African American community and I will never stop fighting for a more equitable future.

1. To think he meant otherwise is absurd.

Nonetheless, I'm glad he clarified.

3. I understood what he said the first time.

It was probably a bit clunky, but his statement was perfectly reasonable. Latinos are part of a much more recent immigration story, and therefore have much different perspectives based on their origin. I mean, who's going to argue that Cuban-Americans don't have different priorities and experience than people from the Dominican Republic, or Central America?

Biden probably didn't need to focus so much on the contrast with African-Americans, but if this is the worst thing they can throw at Biden, it means that he's winning.

4. I understand exactly what he meant.

Hispanics ARE much more diverse. They come from many different backgrounds, some are white, some are black, they span the range of political thought.

This "controversy" is just silly.

8. I wish he would stop needing to "clarify"

seriously

Has The Basement Dweller explained yet how suggesting a black reporter should be tested for cocaine and heroin wasn't a racist stereotype?

They are seeing. They know he shouldn’t debate. They know if he comes out of the basement all is lost.

It’s seriously hard to watch them parade a man around who is obviously having some mental difficulties.

Mentioned this during the primaries (pre Wuhan era), but Biden is quite similar to Bob Dole in '96.  It was "their turn" to be the nominee, and both were running against a polarizing incumbent.  Dole was by most accounts an honorable man while Joe is just a giant pandering buffoon at this point.

There is no way he composed the clarifying comments.  He still hasn't realized he said anything off.

Well, at least he managed to read all the big words without any malaprops or obvious stumbling.  His minders are earning their pay.

That's the exact opposite of what the media did; they in fact tried to explain away Biden's comments, as DU is doing, while making a big deal about Trump's comments on "Thighland" and "hurting God". Of course, no amount of media bias in the left's favor is ever enough for the left.

The Spanish were killing Native Americans in the southwest long before the gringos showed up.

It's not as if this incident is isolated either. Recently, Obiden also stated that Americans can't differentiate between asians of different nationalities.

Are you talking about yourself Joe, or are you somehow exempt from your own idiotic line of thinking?

Senator Biden, if a black man and a Hispanic man were both dangling from a cliff, which one would you try to rescue first?"

This is the typical left wing reaction.

"That's not what he meant! He's being taken out of context!, Also, he's right!"

They would both fall while Joe was phoning a friend for the answer.  IMO, the best answer would be: "The one I think I have the best chance of saving."

I'm sorry, but the correct answer is which group is he pandering to this week?

Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gaffe in your hand?
Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gaffe in your hand?
Alright. I'm goin down to shoot my old mouth off,
you know I do that as often as I can.

Uh, hey Joe, I heard you shot your mouth off,
you said some really stupid shit.
Uh, hey Joe, I heard you shot your mouth off,
you really are a nitwit. Yeah!

Yes, I did,
you know I was trying to have a coherent thought.
Uh, yes I did,
you know I'm only ashamed that it was caught.

Hey Joe, I said,
where you goin' to run
to now, where you, where you gonna go?

Well, dig it!
I'm goin' way down south, way down south,
way down south to CNN way! Alright!

I'm goin' way down south,
way down where I can lie and be believed.

Ain't no media gonna,
it ain't gonna tie my own words to me!
