First time in 60 years I felt true hatred last night,
We have moved to a camper life with our hcp daughter. who is well established in my posts here. Im gonna do long story short.
When we scoped out this campground and loved it. we had some extra time on our weekend trip, so I went to the local golf country club and inquired about fees and such. And that My lil girl would be riding with me from time to time. All good,,contact us when you get here. uhmmm so I did,,
When we moved I went in and paid initiation fee and all,,couple guys in clubhouse,I said Im new,,I'll but your next round,,they took. Then things changed, one guy asked me about my family,so I told him,, his response,, So you have a retard? I told him we dont use that word and I would appreciate if he wouldnt say it again. So he said, "then you are a retard too" So I immediately asked for a refund,,not given.
A month later,,many emails re my refund I decide to call the CC last eve. Oh My,, gal on phone (who was one who took my fee) called me a mother****er, said I was rude to the guy in clubhouse and why would I even bring a ret**** to this town?
I didnt sleep last night, I never felt hatred like this. MrsK a bit more composed than me, contacted someone who will go to the board of directors at Country Club. I told her ok,,Im selling my golf clubs, I do not want to be around this kind of hate..
I'll sign with a bit of a joke,because Mrs K settled me down

I think it's the trump effect. He made it okay to be "out 'n' proud" with your prejudices and insults and bad ideas and idiot positions and wrong ideas. He's made it okay for the total bastardization of the right to free speech - which now allows any proud, defiant, in-yer-face know-nothing an equal seat at the table with science, truth, and objective provable FACTS.
I guess I don't feel like that much of a free-speech advocate anymore. I think that mindset should be muzzled. I think damaging and false information should NOT be allowed to be aired in public. I don't think it deserves a seat at the table. I think it should be openly decried and denounced and NOT given a microphone or a venue to spout shit. And I'm not sure how that would be accomplished in this country, now. But now we've got separate "world-views" competing for air and light and attention. And they're all given the same level of "legitimacy." Hell, we've got Qanon nuts now running for office, and earning their party's (mainly republi-CON) nomination! There's such a freakazoid here in Oregon running for the US Senate right now, for Pete's sake! Such an individual shouldn't be found anywhere outside a padded cell. And, of course, there's the donald as well...
I'm not sure if we're ever going to be able to climb back up out of this.

What a great idea, to move to the camper life. It sounds wonderful to have the freedom to move around with daughter and mrs.

29. I worked in HCP supported living homes for 10 years,,
Had 13 homes under my mgmnt,,3 people per home and staff. 24/7 I was on call always,, I appreciate your efforts to help these people.

8. Yes - trumpsters are like that. I proudly emailed my dad a pic of me helping a child in a pool.
She had a significant physical disability. He responded with a stupid ass, trump like response - cold (pro-life my ass). My dad is deceased now - such a shame that his trump cultism interfered with his status in the family. He was a WW2 vet, but became increasingly estranged from his large family.

No one should be treated in that manner. I’ve had people sneer at me, and call me names because of my orientation. It’s been going on most of my life. I think it would be so much harder if the name calling was towards one of the people I love. It’s easier to grow a thick skin when it’s you they are attacking, you know?
Your special needs child is lucky to have a father like you. I’m sure not all the people at the club are not assholes. If they won’t refund your money, go anyway. If they use the term retarded again, remind them their language is that of an 8 year old, apparently that’s when they stopped maturing.

I try and not use the "R" word, but sometimes still slip up. There are a lot of people that use it describe typical democrats, but no one I know would use the term around the parent or relative of a handicapped person.

we are Seahawk fans,,they flew daughter and us out to Seattle for the Monday night game 3 years ago,, Lil bit played catch on field with Russ and Tyler,,they paid our hotel,plane and all,,except food,,I dropped about 500 on food,,God I miss fresh Seafood!
