(CNN)Some Washington residents who reported stay-at-home order violations say they're now receiving threats after the contact information they provided for the complaints was posted online.

On March 30, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced a website for the public to report businesses violating his "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order. Residents can fill out a form with an alleged violation, which is forwarded to the appropriate agency.

Their complaints and contact info -- which is a public record under state law -- was posted to a Facebook page and blog. That's led to threats against them, according to Inslee's office.

"The governor strongly condemns harassment of any kind," Inslee's Deputy Director of Communications and press secretary Mike Faulk told CNN in a statement. "We find it extremely troubling that people who were trying to keep other Washingtonians healthy by reporting violators are subject to this. This threatening behavior is unacceptable and repugnant."

I thought DUpipo were all for doxxing, harassing, and threatening people. Remember Ted Cruz and Sarah Huckabee Sanders who were chased out of restaurants??? Now the shoe is on the other foot. and they are appalled by it. I'm never in favor of threatening anyone--but I could be persuaded to make an exception in this case.

1. Is it going to come to that?

we arm ourselves to protect us from these violent thugs who intimidate both legislators and now the general population? Pandemic war because these idiots refuse to listen to science in their slavish devotion to everything Trump?

How did a virus and our collective response to it become political?
Gee, how did it become political to harass people you disagree with? Maybe we should ask Maxine Waters.

5. I don't know if

encouraging Americans to spy on each other is ultimately a good thing. Even so, making the names of the people turning in violators public doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm not sure people should be able to report anonomously, but should be able to give their name/address and request anonimity. Otherwise, you risk getting reports from people who have an ax to grind.
:whatever:

Turning in your neighbors are gestapo tactics. These people have the same mindset as those who turned in the Jews in Nazi Germany. That governor in Michigan is another Nazi imitator.

The Judi Lynn primitive loved her some Venezuelan president Chavez along with several other commie leaders in Latin America and around the world. I'm not surprised she approves of Nazi type tactics against those who would dare exercise their own freedom.

I don't sympathize much for people who do truly stupid stuff. But people who get their jollies from bringing government harassment down on business people trying to earn their own living (instead of depending on government) or are otherwise and carefully going about normalish live, have earned whatever opprobrium they receive, short of real threats of violence. Doxxer-culture doxxed.

I agree except for one point. It is more like the East German STASI than Gestapo.  The STASI ran a much tighter and authoritarian state.

The Venn diagram of DUmbasses, Karens, and would be STASI agents is a perfect circle.

And I'm lovin' it!

Especially the fact they engage in a lot of bullying. Think Barron Trump or Nick Sandmann.

We certainly wouldn't want Dems to start doing that.   -Oh, wait.

Anonymous (correct, uncreative, spelling) reports are the bread-and-butter of CPS/DSS, and there are ax-grinders who make false reports.

My son in law's barber has been cutting hair at his house for select regular customers of his and was going to take my 2 grandsons to get haircuts earlier this week, but got a call from the barber that he was reported by one of his neighbors and has to lay low for a while.

The same people who think sanctuary cities and states are a good idea and support politicians who refuse to cooperate with ICE in apprehending illegal aliens who are in violation of Federal immigration laws have no problem running to the authorities to rat out a fellow legal U.S. Citizen because they are trying to provide a valuable service and earn an honest living.
