My son works for a major grocery chain. [View all]
His job is usually night shift unloading trucks forklift/etc... But, I talked to him yesterday, and he's been moved to the front of the store to monitor and enforce the mask and distancing rules. He's really tall guy and kind of intimidating, until you interact with him or hear his silly laugh. I can't really give more of a description than that. He said there aren't more guns than usual, but there are protesters in lawn chairs with guns in the parking lot every day (nothing has come of that so far). He's had only one instance where a man threatened him and my son had to radio for backup. Luckily, the rest of the security team and police were there quickly and the man was cuffed and hauled away. I'm glad it's just been one creep so far, and just lots of cussing for the most part.
I had a feeling for a couple weeks that if someone was going to be at the front it would be him. Please pray my son stays safe. I am afraid to say what state he's in or give more of a description, I just want him safe. He's worried more for me than himself, I'm terrified for him.

Protestors with guns every day and people getting arrested and no news coverage? But of course can't provide any details or even the state where this supposedly happened. :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:

Please thank him and the "security team" at the supermarket for his service. ::)

Protesters at stores? Cool story, Sis!

I am so old I remember when we didn't wear masks in stores just 3 weeks ago and nothing happened.
There was no mass sickness in the store employees.
There was no mass sickness in the customers.
It is almost like there is not really a reason other than power and control in forcing people to wear masks.

I'm so old I remember when the CDC said that cloth masks were not effective at preventing the spread of the virus.
I'm also old enough to know that his is a test and we have failed.

‘Where are they coming from?’ Majority of new COVID-19 cases in New York are coming at home
https://www.amny.com/transit/cuomo-expresses-dismay-at-the-number-of-covid-19-cases-of-those-staying-home/
With 600 new hospitalizations and 232 deaths in the last 24 hours from coronavirus, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday it was “shocking” to learn that the majority of these were among those who had been adhering to stay-at-home orders.
Data from up to 100 hospitals across the state showed that 66% of patients – from a pool of 1,000 – had been self-isolating for the most part and still contracted the coronavirus; nearly half of the cases were Hispanic or African American, Cuomo said during his Wednesday press briefing.
Cuomo said his focus, as well as that of health experts, have been on new case numbers which are concentrated in downstate areas like the New York City metro area, Long Island and the lower Hudson.

118. My thanks to all for your prayers and good wishes.
And, I thank you for letting me vent. I'm going to delete my OP, because of the want of the location, and I don't feel it's safe to reveal his location. Better to delete and drop.
Again, my heartfelt thanks for letting a worried mom drop some emotional baggage and all your support. I hope you and yours also stay safe.
too late, Marva.
