There are two things coming our way that will get everybody's attention, including Trump voters.
Very soon the death toll from the virus will surpass the number of Americans killed in WWI. That will be all over the news. That will get everybody's attention.
There will come a time when the virus will reach a saturation point. What I mean by that is, so many people will have been infected, so many people will have died, most Americans will know someone who died and almost died from the virus.
I don't think the people who are protesting against stay at home orders have been personally effected by the virus yet. I don't think there are too many people protesting stay at home orders, who know someone that has died.
When people lose someone to this virus, that changes everything. Most people do not know someone who has died from the virus yet.
There will come a time when most Americans will know someone they care about died from the virus or almost died from the virus. Attitudes will change when we reach a saturation point.

31. Dare say,three weeks
or might be sooner,if today's projections even come close, this story will have a different meaning. Coming from a Midwestern back ground,do know those Towns and Cities were the local Packing house is the main employer and how the non Immigrant Citizens not only think and how they operate until something causes that main Employer to be dysfunctional and how the finger pointing and the blame game works.
It is going to get down right ugly for the Families and extended Families of Covid victims. The locals will make it a living hell until enough of them become like victims and their family is affected.

3. Except these nuts, who are out protesting,
see themselves as martyrs for an end times scenario, or as an opportunity to overthrow the government, or as a chance to start a race war. They don't care, who is affected by their behavior.
They are deplorable.

4. The second part will come only after 20 million infected. U of W projections stop in August cause
... they don't understand humans aren't rational and are going to only look at the good news.
The virus is not going to stop infecting people in August because the U of W projections or the CDC said it would

18. I doubt that the death of one million
American would change the very small minds of Trumpers. They would say ! Just look at how we owned the liberals we show them even a million dead and we still love Trump.

6. I don't think that day is coming soon if at all
First, I doubt many people today are going to be moved when the number of deaths surpasses the number that occurred in WWI. The number that died in combat in that war has already been overtaken. If -- and hopefully it doesn't get to this point, the number of deaths tops the number killed in WWII (over 400,000) or the Civil War (600,000) that will get the media's attention.
Second, the number of people known to be infected is not spread evenly around the country. In over half the states, the number of cases is under 2 in 1000. In all but a handful its under 9 per 1000. How many people know 1000 people? Chances are a very large portion of the population will not personally know someone infected -- or if they do, they will know someone infected who was asymptomatic or recovered -- that's not going to make those who lack the empathy to care about the disease now suddenly care about it.

12. The reaction to this virus is tracking the reaction to the 1918 virus.
The 1918 virus spread all over the world in the first wave and killed some people, while many more were unaffected by it or recovered. A similar pattern seems to be shaping up for this virus, at least on the first pass.
Once the 1918 virus was in the population worldwide, it mutated into a deadlier virus. Doctors in NYC are saying that they are seeing a shockingly large number of young, healthy people getting seriously ill from covid19, some are saying that trend is new and surprising given what was previously known about the virus.
We can go in one of two directions:
COVID19 find humans to be a decent but not perfect host, it mutates but never to a more lethal form and at some point, it burns itself out after doing a lot of damage, but not earth-shattering damage (tens of thousands of lives lost as opposed to millions). So the world recovers without every person being touched by the virus somehow.
Covid19 finds the perfect host in humans and mutates toward a SARS or MERS lethality, while still maintaining it's slower incubation rate. Covid19 is already in the neighborhood of SARS lethality at over 60% as lethal as SARS and covid19 has maintained it's slow incubation rate and tendency to asymptomatically infect some people and have them become super-spreaders. If a mutation causes covid19 to jump SARS in lethality, even if it comes nowhere near MERS in lethality (around 70-80% fatality rate for those infected), then the world is in major trouble if covid19 keeps it's tendencies on incubation duration, which is possible, the 1918 virus did that exact thing. What some medical people are reporting vis seeing young healthy people fell, says covid19 may be mutating in a direction that is going to make it deadlier to everyone.

8. I learned about lemmings when I was in gradeschool many years ago. I've just never
understood the drive for mass suicide that afflicts them but lately I've realized that there have to be
some lemmings who survive by being out of town or having stronger survival traits since it's obvious
there have to be survivors to build up the population for the next event.
I think that tRUMP/reTHUGS and cultists are following the same plan. Many/most of them will happily
dive off a cliff for their own demented reasons. There will be a few survivors/those who don't follow
the crowd and we'll have to watch them closely because up with this shit we will not put!
Maybe some righties will "get it" but I doubt that very many will.

14. Personal loss is important here.
For 30 years, AM talk radio and Fox "News" have allowed people to live in an alternate reality. And as long as their experiences could be squeezed into the narrative they were being fed, all was well in their lives.
This is different. This isn't just an economic downturn that can be blamed on Democrats. This isn't something mostly hurting people far away. This can't be pretended out of existence.
People I knew have died of COVID - no one especially close, but it brought the whole thing home.

16. Perhaps, but please also keep in mind that
he is killing his own base. Tens of thousands of people in rural, red areas, will die from his lack of action and his wrongful action. Dead people don't vote so well. Trump is ****ing himself. That is a good thing. The damage he is doing in the process, that's a bad thing. Get him out as soon as possible.

24. "Dead people don't vote so well."
They do as long as they remain on the voter rolls.
Rs are known for scouring obituaries and seeing to it that those people vote, as long as they haven't been purged from voting records, and they "assist" old people in nursing homes to vote who no longer have presence of mind.
I have first hand knowledge of someone who moved from my state a few months before the 2004 election, and didn't register in time in her new state to vote. The Rs in her new state told her to request an absentee ballot from her former state (knowing the voter rolls would not have been purged yet), even though she retained no connection to the the state. Clearly illegal. I got wind of it and filed a complaint at my county courthouse. They intercepted her ballot, and it was invalidated.
Rs cheat.

23. Herr Trump's cult of idiot racist ****heads will never abandon him. Never.
Write them off right now, en masse, and forget about ever steering them back to reality. Sure, a few outliers might be inspired to turn from their zealotry, but such epiphanies will be rare and, in many cases, fleeting. That is, at the first opportunity, these awakened cultists will leap at the chance to vote for another Trump-like Republican.
**** every last one of them.
Stop trying to guess the number of deaths that will open their eyes, because that number does not exist. They are a death cult, so 50K, 100K, 1000K deaths do not impress them.
The cult will not die until the last cultist is dead, and certainly it will outlive the idiot racist ****head Trump himself. They could catch Trump in the act of personally murdering their own children, and they'd find a way to be ok with it. They are that ****ed up.
**** every last one of them.

30. Yes this☝️
Eventually they will provoke people into killing them.
And if or when that happens I wish every last one of them gone. Forever.

Blood-thirsty lot. Some states/cities are playing inflationary games with death and cases stats, but ignoring that, the accepted count will likely pass 116K in July or August.
But what DUpipo do not get or want to acknowledge is that most Americans do not blame President Trump for Covid-19. If many/most people know someone who died of Covid-19 (I do not, BTW), as many or more saw or even were affected by actions Trump took in January and early February despite flak and lies from WHO, the Dems, and the MSM. My daughter flew into LAX from China 8 days before symptom screening began there (along with SFO and JFK). Then Trump's China travel shutdown announced 1/31 prevented her return, which was to be 3 weeks later.
Trump's actions were 1.) early, 2.) contrary to what WHO "scientists" were saying at the time, 3.) in the face of Dem condemnations and undermining, and 4.) effective.
