Within the next three weeks, by May 17, some Republicans will step forward to oppose Trump.
They may not run against him, but they will stand tall, and say what we have been waiting to hear from them.
Trump has lost it!!! Everyone can see it, and it is time. (as few as 2 or 3 Republicans)
....Maybe the next few days, or maybe next week. It is speculation, but the time is now, or very soon. It is a hunch and that is all. Why? I think a few will try to save their party, or try to save the U.S.A. Who? I don't have a clue.. Could be anyone or someone totally out of the loop..(retired, old, not active in politics, etc.,etc.)
.....................Someone well known..Yes. We will all know this person.

It is just a feeling that it is the time.....Of course, I have been wrong before, and will be wrong again. But I think it is finally time.

3. I won't hold my breath.....but.... anything is possible. We will see.

..If I got it all wrong, that is ok too................................................................
....I taught high school for many years. I am not a good speller. So, many times my students would correct the spelling. That was ok for me. We would laugh, and anything was possible. So many stories to tell. Maybe some other time. And it was more than 20 years ago.

2. Something will indeed happen because Trump will force it.

His behavior will get worse, as it's gotten worse over his years in office. But the closer he gets to electoral defeat, the more frantic he'll get. It doesn't mean that he'll accept defeat; rather, it means that he'll use ANY means to maintain power. And he will NOT succumb to defeat, if the vote will show his defeat. He'll deny it, he'll object, he'll file suit against someone, he'll start an emergency, etc. He has a lot of tools in his toolbox, more than he's ever had in his life, and he'll use all of them. And when he runs out of tools, he'll use them all over again.

8. ..I respectfully disagree. I think he is worn out. I think his family will try to convince him

not to run again. I think they will try to get him to resign.. They know and see the decline and danger for him and for everyone. I am just someone who is hopeful from time to time................................................
... Most of the time, I do see the dark side. I was around for Kennedy's assassination. I watched Nixon resign. I recall as a kid we dreamed about landing on the moon, and we did.. I attended a class in the late 70s or early 80s, where the professor theorized that someday, there would be hand held computers like in the first Star Trek series, with Spock & Capt. Kirk. I thought that was not possible. The hand held things (forgot the name) would be everywhere. What else is there to say? Trump is not well, and most of us know it. Time has come and we will see what happens. ...

Last thought for this post..................................................
...........Who knows what evil lurks within the hearts of men?...The shadow knows..............
....................................... that is from a 1940s radio show, "The Shadow"

11. I never knew DU had a Creative Speculation forum

Is it a saner version of CT topics?

I think it is possible the some in the GOP will want to put forth an alternative to Trump, but I’m not sure there are enough with the backbone and influence to pull it off.

I think it will depend on the death rate over the next 30-60 days, and the resulting polls.

Romney, Kasich, Haley, or even Pence are all candidates. If it gets bad enough, they may try forcing Trump to resign via the 25th, but I think it’s all a long shot. I think they would only go that route if they were essentially giving up on the WH, and just trying to keep the senate.

12. I found this forum a few years ago. Don't know when?..

..I started posting here more regularly a year or so ago. It is a good place to speculate about any political or current events. And yes, it is ok to be totally wrong. So what? It ain't the first time I have been wrong, and will not be the last time.

Traitor and pro-impeachment Justin Amash of Michigan supposedly has formed a "2020 Presidential Campaign Exploratory Crmmittee" as he had threatened to do back in November:

...Amash, who was pummeled with backlash after he was the only “Republican” who came out in favor of impeaching President Trump, was forced to switch to an “independent.”

Now, he supposedly has a “plan” to lead a mass anti-Trump exodus” from the GOP....

Whatever happened with that "mass anti-Trump exodus"?

Perhaps the DUmmies are referring to Amash, whom relatives and toadies might support, but...   :-)

Amash's self-interested opposition to Trump's China trade policies have not, ummmmm, worn well with time.

Stewie, it's a bit late for anyone to think about challenging Trump for the nomination, don't you think?
