I Will Not Lay Down My Life For The Economy!
The current rhetoric oozing out of the orifices of the beholden is not only implying that we should be willing to lay down our lives for the sake of an economic abstraction, the economy, that is rife with the grosses inequality ever seen, but it is even being stated at times explicitly.
There have been long, brutal wars in our history where people made great sacrifices and suffered loses for the sake of the country and freedom. The soldiers fought, died, were maimed, came back with mental scars, etc. Their families sacrificed many things for the war efforts and gave their husbands and sons blood and lives to the grave for it.
In no way am I going to accept even the slightest suggestion that that should be the case in this crisis. That is, even as naive, misguided and easily manipulated groups of people jump on that bandwagon and conflate a badly broken system with their own freedom and survival. That is what they are really up against, but darn if they are going to accept what that is telling them about their country, who is running it and how little they matter in that equation. The bluster and energy being expended to make noise about being raked under by a system that is not much concerned about any of their values and their very lives is wasted energy and contributes to the matters at hand.
All of us might be capable of shifting from our self interests and every day lives in order to defend the noble context of freedom and democracy from a foreign enemy and that might be difficult, but it is a matter of true patriotism. After all, if some external threat were a clear and present danger, we would have to fight to preserve what allows us to live and thrive. That makes sense.
We have a systemic problem. It is internal. The illustrious simulation of America has glitches in the picture, the transmission is getting preempted by a pandemic. The masks on the major players are peeling up on the edges and America's facade is struggling now to hold up and stay relevant. It may not be able to do that much longer.
This is not a war. This is an internal crisis that calls for change and action. To even suggest that it calls for sacrificing our lives or those of our friends and loved ones is an egregious and dangerous lie that does not correspond with our nation's best interests or its founding ideology. The economy is an idea based on an aggregation of things and it is highly influenced by the Pipers at the Gate who are concerned about their investments and would gladly throw us in the fire now to keep their blaze going at all costs.
I, for one, will not lay my life down for that. The economy should serve us, and not the other way around. We all work hard enough as it is. (LMAO) It is time for a real, unmistakable paradigm change if we are all to survive.
If Aliens came to the planet and said, sacrifice yourself and the Entirety of Earth would be spared, and those that survive would be granted nigh on infinite knowledge so as to better their lives.... or refuse and everyone dies a horrible death... he would be the type to say "It's not fair, and I won't do it"

Is this DUmmie actually claiming it works for a living? :o

It appears so, though... claims of "working hard enough as it is" may relate to lobbying congress and state governments for more handouts.

Liberals are too scared to come out of their bunkers for a virus. It wouldn't be any different if it were real bullets flying. Liberals live in perpetual fear.

Who do you think you're fooling DUmmie?

I’m begging for Trump to simply tell the reporters he’s not a dictator nor is this a monarchy, we’ve put out our guidelines we’d like for the states to follow, but each governor needs to decide what is right for their state.

If Saint Obama told you to go back to work you would. And you'd puff your chest out and brag about it.

4. I understand where he is coming from.
Luckily, I have a guitar and some places to stay, so I can play it, for tips, on the street. However, when one teeters on the edge of the abyss of the American homeless nothing is the same anymore, especially when you are advanced in years with all that aging entails.

No, none of us are bums, or even hobos these days. The word indigent applies, but it does not convey the reality and meaning of the situation and is as useful in the Profitable States of America as increasingly archaic terms like compassion, altruism in country that has managed to turn a word that relates to our well being, welfare, and make it a dirty, insult laden with contempt and spite.

5. Oh, thank you!
Glad you liked it.
That was quite a compliment, but I am just an hyper-eclectic, armchair philosopher of sorts. I am currently a "senior" in the "new retirement", i.e., unemployed and living a solitary life in a tent, often enjoying the warmth and excellent internet access of a college library during the day.

Just another pseudo-intellectual who believes that Socialism/Marxism will lead us to the Promised Land, yet doesn't understand that he would be in the first group of people to be disposed of.
