As You Watch The 2 Conventions Keep An Eye On This
Keep an eye on this as you watch the Democratic and Republican Conventions on TV; watch how much opposition coverage they give. Don't worry too much about them just showing selected portions of the actual work of the Conventions, watch to see how much coverage they give to opposition or disruptions to each.
I noticed this morning first thing that an 'anti war' protest at the Democratic Convention site was all over the tube. Imagine that - protesting the war at the Democratic Convention, as if we started the ****ing thing, as if it was not our soon-to-be candidate who proposes an end to the war. How many anti war protests that take place during the Republican's Convention do you think you'll see on the TV? I expect you'll see ever flaw in the woodwork exposed during the Democrat's time in the sun, I expect the Republican Convention to be covered as if there wasn't a word against them to be heard anywhere in the land - all peace, harmony, and good times with clean living.
The impression given is that the Democrats are the Party of discord of course. Who wants discord in their Government? Nobody, that's who. Watch for it. Coverage is never even, but now days they stupefy and misinform us in a million ways. We need to be ever mindful of it.

2. I just told my husband the same thing.. see what happens between the two weeks.. they will show obvious bias.. and we know more protestor show up when Bush and Cheney are around.. shoot, they normally show up where ever McCain goes.. the fixed news doesn't show these shots.

7. So, our bloggers need to show the protests at the Republican Convention, and we need to show it here on DU.
Protesters like Cindy Sheehan should be focused on the Republican Convention. I don't understand why they are so active at the Democratic Convention. They are hurting their own cause and confusing voters. How stupid.
But no one ever said Democrats, liberals, and primitives are pillars of cerebrality.

10. Not really... if you believe in protest and the 1st amendment.
They are not a D or R, rather a protest group who wants to have an issue or a cause focused on. They are like poor lobbyists. So, they show up where politicians show up. I wish more people wouldn't be so affraid of dissent.. It is dessent that started this country. Its dissent that has helped at times shape this nation (the woman who wouldn't get up and the man who chains himself to the lunch counter).. Republicans in the last 8yrs have made people affraid of dissent.. Affraid to be different.. affraid to question the judgement by trying to associate it as unpatriotic.. when the reality is, protest is very Patriotic.

8. To be honest...
As a Minnesotan I would have to suggest that Denver is probably just a warm up act. The RNC welcoming committee as well as dozens of other progressive and anti-war groups have been plotting for over a year now to get every inch of use out of the thing that they can.
But the media will of course be themselves and they may decide to underreport on protests of the re-pukes.

These idiots don't understand that disrupting an event is NOT covered under the 1st Amendment. Trying to intentionally derail a convention isn't a Damn protest. ::)

Even if there are protests at the R Convention, it's not like people are going to believe those protestors are conservatives. Dems protest Republicans and Dems protest themselves. It's obvious the discontent and hatred on display will be from the left. Either way, they lose.
